HI I was wondering if it is possible to paint 70 dash plastic to make it the correct color? I mean like the glove box door and the pieces around the steering column. and what product would I use to get a blue color for a B-5 blue interior. I also need to paint the metal on the dash frame.what color would that be? thanks for any and all help from the worlds greatest Charger web page. Stephen

Paint shops should be able to fix somthing for you..I know the paint shop by me can put whatever color you want in a spray can, so I can get sublime in a spray can to paint bolts and stuff.. :icon_smile_big:

69 OUR/TEA

Hi Stephen,do you have any blue pieces you can go by?My 69 has a B7 interior,in which the dash frame, dash pad,and lower dash padding is a dark blue.I used PPG DIU interior color for the dash frame, that I had to customize the color because the paint code that I got for the dash frame was not even close. The dash frame on 68-70 is a suede finish,so that is the look you would want,it kind of looks chaulky.Since I had a quart made up,that did not match, which was suede finish,I kept tinting it and doing  test spray outs until I got it right on.I had a good area for comparison that was under my dash pad that had not gotton beat up by the sun.For the dash pad and any plastic I am using PPG SPECIALTY COATINGS line of vinyl / plastic dye.It is very loose,so it does'nt fill in the grain.Again,no real code to go by,so I used a mint blue lower dash cushion as my guide, and had a quart custom made and once again did test spray outs, kept playing with the tints, more spray outs until it was right on.In their older paint books I found the actual paint numbers for the suede finish for dash frame and steering columns,so I made a pint of it to try it out.NO GOOD!!First off ,it had a texture finish in the formula, these dashs did not have texture, and the color was to light, and it could only be made in laquer. The color looked like it would be correct for your B5,but without the texture additive. If you have a PPG paint store you can got to,here is the number 13705,just ask them to omit the texture as it is not supposed to have that kind of finsih.I do not have the formula in front of me,but the first mix of dye I made that was to light ,it might be correct looking for you.I will post that formula for you tomorrow.Hope this helps.
