Dino

Sorry but this guy sounds like a creep to me.  Asking a kid for the address and showing up with a trailer?  That doesn't sit well with me.

So, you have a lead on a Hemi Daytona or some other Mopar, and your only possible way to get it, is to make friends with a little brother of the owner.  You not going to take that option?

Dino

If you had a 5 year old son you'd be alright with some guy calling him and asking for his address so he can invite himself?  Anyone here with little kids that would be fine with that?  The guy should've dealt with the owner directly as he did initially, and if the doesn't get him anywhere then tough luck.  If he showed up on my doorstep like that and I find out how he got there, there's gonna be hell to pay.  I don't care what car we're talking about, there are some things you just don't do.  I'm not going to get all warm and fuzzy because he scored a desirable car or even a pair of them.  I love cars as much as the next guy but come on!

As a parent, I'll agree.  It was a bonehead move.  However, as someone that makes a living off dealing with classic cars, I think you have to bend a few rules to pursue such a high end automobile.

While we're on the subject of parenting, why weren't the parents/ guardians monitoring the phone call this kid was having?  If there was an issue, this is it.

Dino

I agree and ask myself the same question but still don't condone his actions.

I didn't know you dealt with classics, what do you do?

Agreed 100%.  I get that the promise of a car and money are more important to some than others, but some lines should never be crossed.  Then again, it's clear this kid's parents are just as much a problem as anything else these days...

Ghoste

Yeah, we really don't have all the facts on this one but as a parent, if he pulled that stunt on me he would have gone home with an empty trailer at the very least.

I thought it was out of order , the guy asking the kid , for address & info etc  , little bit iffy ....not a thing you should ever consider doing , or I would ever consider doing !   imo  .  when I read this last night  , I thought the story sounded kind of  familiar , think I read something like this a long time ago , guy buying a car etc  ,  :scratchchin:
