Can anyone chime in on the need for a zinc additive in our older engines?   My 73 has the original 318 in it.

I just got my alternator rebuilt, the new fuel pump put in, and changed the oil just in case since my old pump was leaking.   When grabbing some liquid moly to add to the oil change one day I came across this zddp maxx product.  Sounds like it's more important when breaking in an engine and also mainly just needed when you have a flat tappet cam and not roller lifters.  Is this a product I should be considering adding to my oil at oil changes?

Thanks

Alan

Yes, it's critical with all oil changes?
