Alberta, NE Washington both likely to have snow. Also the Siskiyou mountains in N Cal.

You are a brave man!

I'm here in Kent, WA, south of Seattle.

Best of luck with the Charger!

Thanks Guys, looks like the weather is getting a little more snow just before i depart, but the days i would be there seem to be predicting no snow and some sunshine... i really want to go obviously but ill probably make up my mind on Christmas eve.

I've got 4 wheels and tires prepped, so i can just switch them out, they are 14's/15's so if its a front disc car i'll still be able to fit the 15's over the front. Bringing my engine crane as theres another engine block in the garage im told comes with the car.

This is not my first tucked away Mopar find actually... 2 years ago when i was working in Texas, another workmate told me of his Mothers car that had been sitting since 92.  I had no idea or what it was and he didn't either, he mentioned it was red and had two doors. I drove 3 hours to go look at what i thought would have been a pile of rust sitting in the weeds.  I was wrong When i arrived the pointed me into the garage.

I was wrong, turns out its a 71 Newport with 20k miles on it! Was parked when his mother the original owner, had the AC fail.  They were selling the family farm and wanted it gone, i asked how much they wanted and my friends father who is in his 90's said "I figure 100 bucks is fair"

Yes sir! came back the following week, got it running and had it flat bed outta there.
A left it in storage at my friends house, moved back to California, then the following year i drove back out on a roadtrip to pick it up. Heres some pics of after getting it home and a quick clean up.

100 bucks!!! LOL

Anyhow I'll be taking plenty of pics of the reveal as i just love this stuff!

Cheers, Sam.

That was a joke. I am aware that the car is worth far more than that.

You forgot, " I want it for my son".

Yeah, I've heard that bullshit line. I have no problem with people that buy cars to resell, flippers or whatever you wish to call them. Profits make the world go round. I'm not alone in the disgust for those scumbags that lie and cheat to get a smoking deal on something, THEN relist it at market price.

I've always wanted one of those.
My dad had one just like it, now he is gone. I'd sure love to have another one.
I'm looking for a Father/Son project.
Cancer runs in my family. I may only have a few years left. I'd sure like to spend it enjoying myself with my dream car....

Yeah I love it I've always wanted a big luxo boat. Bits gonna be a fun project needs zero body work. It's a 360 car.  I have a line on a 4 speed polara that's being scrapped so I'm gonna pick up all the 4 speed parts and turn it into a tire fryer.   May do a bb conversion also

WOW  :o in my book that Newport passes as a true susvivor. If i were you I would'nt touch the bodywork except for some cleaning and detailing. Just some touch ups to the tired interior, keep it bone stock and make sure it is in top condition. you never really cant loose anything.

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Yeah its very cool, i will have to peel the Vinyl top, even bein a Texas car all its life, i can see some rust coming through on the lower rear window, so the top will have to be replaced.  Also want to put some Road Wheels on it, as theres a flyer for these 71 Fusies and one flyer in particular has the Red/white/white Newport in it, id love to keep it as a brochure looking car.

I never buy any of my cars with intent to sell.  I'm 34 years old and my plan is to get enough stock while i can find them now, and that way ill have plenty of projects ahead of me.  The Charger will be the next restoration project but probably wont start on it till end of 2016 or early 2017 after i finish my current GTO project.

Wow 5 days to go! Leaving Friday! Can not wait!! Weather is looking good. got some fresh tires on my Truck yesterday.   Exciting stuff!!

Hope your drive is going well.  I belonged to Wine Country Mopars around 1998-2003 and lived in Ukiah.  When are you planning to drive home.  I live about 2 1/2 miles off I-5 south of Red Bluff.  Would love to see the car.  I'm visiting friends for the  holidays but will be home early next week.  LMK when you'll be going back through there if you are taking that route.  Mike
