I still see Jon Secrist a few times a year.   I didn't know he bought the car new.    Dad had many photos of this car around 1975.

I just checked on this car and John did not buy it new.    He purchased this car around 1972 in Big Bear CA and it was orange at the time of purchase.  Jon had it painted Petty Blue.
