Cars on Consignment

I was exploring consigning my 67 with Gateway Classic Cars. Before I did that, I checked with them and American Family, my insurance carrier. The dealer told me it was my responsibility to insure the car and American Family told me the car would not be covered on consignment, not even for comprehensive. Has anyone else run into this?

yep - the old place i worked you had to provide proof of insurance while the car was on the lot - the dealership should have insurance but it doesnt extend to your property on the lot.
