My Fender tags are lost....Sigh...Also the VIN tag that was on drivers door was blasted off and would like a new one for that
I have the Build sheet
I would like to order a Repro Tag to install on car
Is there a vendor that does this?.......I know its a touchy subject and even though I have painted the car a different color than what was factory I would have the tag made to match build sheet
thanks!

If you have an original broadcast sheet - you are good.

ECS Automotive sells the door VIN stickers. http://www.ecsautomotive.com/

There are a few people doing fender tags......and even fewer who can correctly tell you what needs to be on them. If you post the broadcast sheet - there are a few people here that can help you with the tag info before you go to the tag company.

I had my door tag redone by ECS and they did a fantastic job.

I gave up on Govier, after waiting almost 10 years for him to have a tag made for me. Mine grew legs in a paint shop before I got the car  :brickwall:

I contacted a couple of outfits back in July and, other than MMC, they all expected me to do all the foot work, get them a "gate" number etc, etc. It was a no brainer going with MMC and within a month Dave Wise had my tag in my hand for my SuperBird. He did thorough research to make sure everything was right, with multiply drafts to be proofed by myself before the tag was punched/printed. The best I can tell from my own research he got it bang on using my build sheets, old titles, original tag examples, etc to have the tag produced. He even supplied the correct screws to install it.

Before you have a fender tag made, search the forums to see how many people have paid good money for bad tags.

Sometimes having no tag is better than having a bad tag. Cars with bad tags can immediately be deemed suspicious or frauds (see the thread on the 6bbl Charger with A/C)

What was coded, when it was coded, and, sometimes even where, it was coded, changed during the year, from plant to plant and from year to year.

Simply having a broadcast sheet is often not enough.

YOU need to do your own research as to what was coded on YOUR tag by comparing like models from the same plant at about the same time of production year as your car. What was coded at the beginning of the year may not be coded at the end of the year.

Getting a repop tag is controversial and carries a certain, and often significant, down side. It's not as simple as just having one made.
