Hi everyone,
I want to do a project car of a dodge charger 1969 the american model. I want to build everything from scratch and have it original as possible.
Where could I find blue prints, meaning the size of door panels and such??
I already have the service manual but need measurements and such or they don't do that?
Thank you :)

 Welcome aboard!

I don't think you can get blue prints.

Stuff like that, if it still exists, may be the exclusive property of Chrysler, or FCA nowadays. The best that you can hope for is your Factory Service Manual.

I can see it now... 3D printing gone wild  :Twocents:

Thanks guys i have the factory manual which gives lots of info but not the dimensions but i know now so that's all good thank you.

If you hear anything let me know though!

so at the moment i'll keep in post of my progress will look like  beast! :)

I think it would be in your best interest to not build one, but rebuild one.  You can get a decent project car for a reasonable price if your patient enough.  To build a Charger from scratch, you'd have to have the resources of a company like Auto Metal Direct.

I'm doing Mechanical Engineering at uni and it was going to be a project for that and I've done a torana Lj from scrap metal to buil into a race and very all known so i could have and able to get resources but yer I think your absolutly right just wait on for a shell at least might. but how different are the 69 chargers in australia are to america like could i use the shell and convert it to american?

The Valiant Chargers are based on the American A body, aka the Dart and American Valiant.  The American Charger is a B body, a completely different platform.

So do you plan on building a Challenger also?

If you search the web there are some Solid works (3D CAD models) of 69 Chargers out there. I've seen a few in the past but only seem to be able to come up with this one right now.

This isn't the best example but if you can get your hands on a better rendering you may be able to pull a lot of what you will need from a good solid file.

I have found the dimensions of the challenger :) so happy its only a blue print of the actual size so I can work from that :)

Although it would be a lot easier finding a shell and so to  do that I guess I'l have to buy some nice known classics, fix them up nd sell them and that way illget the mmoney quicker for my charger

I accept all tips  and knowledge if any one has rebuilt an American Charger :)

and@ Myk i dont have boyfriend just for that reason haha but I spend more time with cars than I do with anything else. (Maybe why im single) lol

sorry but you have me confused here :shruggy: you want to build a full size dodge charger from scratch :hah:  (good luck) or you want to build a scale model of one which makes more sense :yesnod:

I did want to build one from scratch but obviouusly Chrysler has not released thediamentions for each panel for people like me to build them,
So now my plan is to just find a shell of one and rebuild it.
