Lower Dash Pads Shrinkage

My lower dash pads have shrinked over time.  I glued them back down to the metal plates in areas, but the width is off.  I was going to set them out in the sun, and try to soften them up a bit.  Then try to press them outward.  Thoughts?

You can give it a shot. I used a heat gun on a low temp to soften and stretch mine. I was able to get my AC ducts back in and some of the original length back, but they have shrunk again. So it isn't a permanent fix.
