which filter do we need for a 400 engine ( I read the post on 440 engine) and if you can recommend an english version or supplier that would be just wicked

Big blocks all take the same filter. Off the top of my head FRAM's is a PH8A(look for a cross reference in another brand as I have not heard much good about FRAM)

The same filter is used on a lot of American Ford products as well so there must be a British distributor of some kind.
