ya you bet I put some energy into this because I didn't deserve how I was treated by that guy at all and no one else does either. I'm not the kind of guy to go around making comments like these unless I have a VERY VERY  good reason too. Anyone that knows me knows that. Stop by if your in Western Iowa sometime.

You pick up the damn phone and call your customers if you don't get a response after a few days by e-mail.  Period.    That's it, end of discussion.   I'd love to see this guy in court.   The judge won't be interested in his church background, military background or the he said she said stuff from the customer a month later.  The judge would simply ask "why didn't you call your customer"?   Far as slander goes, good luck with that one.
I always find it amusing when I hear those words.
If you (400sforever) were complaining about the price, the quality of work performed or condition of the product outcome from this man then I'd be less likely to believe your story.   Since that man is basically admitting he didn't call you (by not saying he did call and you're wrong in his response) and relying solely on email, well, I guess it's his fault if he gets some bad feedback.

With the age of the gentlemen you'd think he would be more of a phone guy then online emails.

That's what I found strange.   At 67 years old you'd think he'd be more likely to use the phone.    :shruggy:   maybe he's just been busy and forgot about it until he was called.    :shruggy:

Thanks guys. .i guess that's why I posted the story on here. . Just couldn't believe a guy in the business would not communicate and then totally go off the deep end because I didn't get an email. I figured since he hadn't called that everything was fine but I was sure wrong there!

It puts a customer in a bad position.  I, too, have simply waited around for a vendor to get back in touch with me only to find out they gave up?

It's from being burned in the past.  A person gets gun shy about constantly contacting someone who's doing some work for you.  It's always, "Why didn't you just contact me?"

Me:  I don't want my ass chewed for being impatient.

Good customer service goes a long ways.  Classic Industries comes to mind as someone who will go out of their way to try & appease a customer.
