Attaching explosives to a remote controlled is hardly new.

Germany did it back in WWII....





And the US made a remote controlled B-17.

Hell there is a video of a remote controlled helicopter with a full rifle attached to it that is about 20 years old.

Simply put, it is NOT against the law in any form in the US unless you use something from the USML. Which states, guns over 50 caliber.

I'm still waiting for the first shooting done with a drone.  It's the perfect assassin.   The operator can be over 1 mile away, fly it up to some target person, shoot them and fly away.   Nobody will be able to identify a suspect.    I've thought about this for about a year now.

perhaps I should of worded it differently ,    imo whats happening with these drones with cameras , that are available to anyone ,  soo any terrorist , weirdo  ,  sicko , can leaglly buy one  , fly one  , &  can easily make a home made   smart bomb , & fly it to who knows where . also  rob a bank like chuckie says  , even assonate someone !  that's the problem  , fancy stuff like this technology was out the reach of most if not all of the civilian population , once upon a time  .   now look !

The BATFE might have a problem but they have already said, a gun mounted to an R/C isn't illegal.

The CLOSEST law according to the FAA is:

Drones are finally going to crack open the question about how far your "airspace" extends above the ground you own.

If the govt/FAA won't deal with the issue then there is a very simple solution.  We need to park video-recording drones outside the bedroom windows of every Congressman's private home until they do.

wouldn't it be possible for someone with the technical skills to build a jamming devise to interfere with the drones  radio control

Yes it is possible, and already being done by the military.....building one is pretty easy...just find a transmitter with way more power than theirs and let her rip...but ...you can't do it because unless you know the frequency they are using you would have to jam the whole band they are in.... and the Feds absolutely do not like the public jamming radio frequencies ....remember when theaters wanted to jam cell phones.....

The FAA is way behind when it comes to how Drones should be regulated....I fear that it going to take some really bad incident before they move....but of course by then they will go over broad with whatever regulations they come up with.....

3D printers may eventually force this whole issue.  

People will be able to home-build almost anything if they can obtain the raw materials, download the files, and have access to big/advanced enough printers.

I think new laws will have to be made to govern drones. It will be interesting to watch.
