Where do you live?    If I still had mine I'd be driving it just the same as ever.

Here's a pic of ours from the other day... should be able to recognize the area ;)  :scratchchin:

I remember seeing yours in Pahrump, when I was at Spring Mtn for the week. That was back in 2011  :coolgleamA:

 Did we meet and talk?     :shruggy:

Nope, you were a few cars in front of me, and I was in a rush, unfortunately.

That sucks.  Judging by your picture I'm guessing that's the Lincoln memorial in the background?      :2thumbs:

And the Washington Monument at 1:00

Again, the love for the General Lee was 100% with all races, genders, and ages, showing the love.  :2thumbs:

The "issues" seem to be fabricated and/or perpetuated by the media. Apparently, it's what "they" want you to believe. In reality, there does not seem to be any issue  :Twocents:

Charger-Bodie

I just watched the episode of roadkill where they trashed the Hellcat twins and viper. At the end they had a dedication to Rosco (James Best) ,it brought a tear to my eye that such a great show and its character touched so many of us,and then my thoughts went right to the mess we are in now and it ruined that moment for me. F-ing bunch of crap!
68 Charger R/t white with black v/t and red tailstripe. 440 4 speed ,black interior

Exactly!!! No one was offended by the rebel flag until someone told them to be offended by it!!!! This issue has not been taken laying down, I just looked at the change.org website and the petition has over 150,000 to sign it and it's still climbing!!!!! I also checked out the TV land facebook page and it's loaded down with complaint's of them pulling the duke's off the air and all comment's saying that they would not watch tv land ever again!!!! This has really opened a can of worm's and I haven't seen so many rebel flag's being flown since Roy Barn's changed the georgia state flag several year's ago. This is not pertaining to just one state tho this PC has stepped on alot of toe's this time it seem's.....

Are you serious ? Does your wife know your Gay ?

   don't tell anyone.    :nana:
Far as the complaints.   I've read some from other countries.   Lots of people saying the same thing that this is only creating a bigger wedge between us.    Very sad and stupid choice by educated smart business people.   Book smart I might add.     :rotz:

I drove my GL on July 4th because I just felt I had to. The response was overwhelming! I usually get some thumbs up and waves- but I would say 80-90% of the people that saw the car said something positive. Much more than normal.

I stopped at a fireworks stand and I was a hero! Business stopped for the workers and customers to take photos. Parents asked if I could stay there for 10 min so they could go home and get their kids. It was a constant stream of positive comments. This went on for almost an hour.

I know this has been concerning us- especially those of us with GL's. It felt personal because the media- all of the media made me feel like I was going to be seen as a racist for driving that car. We know the difference but joe public watches a lot of TV and perception is reality.

I saw a side of people that they don't show on CNN or Fox News- the Average American that has no agenda and is not trying to get ratings. There were teens, kids, moms, dads, grandparents- everyone that cheered for the car and begged me to leave the flag on.

After the families of the victims forgave the killer the media needed something else to talk about so this story was fabricated. They tried damn hard to make the Dukes a racist show but now we are seeing what we need- pushback for what tax paying Americans believe in.

Warner Bros, TV Land and Bubba all jumped too early looking for attention. Now if they put the flag back on, or play the show their choice will be explained as racist. It's a lose/lose scenario for them. Should have just kept heir mouth shut and waited before making a statement they have to stand by.

From what I read as a follow-up to that story, if one believes it, was that NOBODY exchanged their Confederate Flags at the Daytona race, even though they were all given opportunity.

I can see it now, wear a rebel t-shirt or flag oriented shirt and you will be denied access to the race. Then it will expand to amusement parks, stores, and on and on...  :Twocents:

69wannabe

If Nascar turn's down people wearing or using a rebel flag it will go away. I don't think that nascar can afford this these day's!!! Used to you would have to buy race ticket's a year in advance and now you can buy them at the gate. The stand's are not full like they used to be and one lady said if they make her take down her flag they would never be back!!  If nascar does this then it will be shooting itself in the foot just like TV land.....

The PC's are out of control, it's like a red rag to a bull. They are now after Kid Rock......

Ghoste

Kid Rock will more likely write a song about how ridiculous they are.

Cncguy

I guess Bubba Watson is the only one removing it.

Mike DC

I wonder how Kid Rock is gonna deal with this.

He doesn't seem like the type to cave to some recent pressure from a small activist group.  His last 20 years in the public eye leaves no question whether he is racist or not.

But he might be moved by recent polls showing that something like 2/3rds of all African Americans find the flag offensive.  That's harder to ignore.  And I doubt that figure was very much lower before the Dylan Roof shooting.

skip68

That's because 99% of that 2/3 were told it's racist and is a symbol of hate.   Just like all other Americans that are falling for this garbage.  Keep in mind, the kkk also has flown the American flag.   We can't control what any hate group chooses for a symbol and unless it's something that they created, it's really not theirs.

It's all opinions.

Different people disagree on things even when they all get the same information.

The rebel flag suffers because the reason to suspect a racist link is so obvious & easy to explain.  The non-racist view of it is less obvious to people without experience with the rural/southern culture.

skip68

I did a search for images of kkk.  Very few show the confederate flag.
Most all flags in pictures are the American flag.    :rotz:
The official symbol of the kkk is a cross with red blood drop in the center.  It appears they fly whatever flag they need to depending on what they are saying and where they are at the time.
At the white house it's the American flag.  In the south it's the confederate flag.   Mostly they fly the American flag.
