Hey Guys,

I currently have my '69 Charger / 727 in the shop to get some fluid leaks addressed.  The quote they're giving me is $850 to pull it and do a reseal kit.  This seems over priced to me, but I'm new to the socal area.  Thoughts on price?

Thanks,

I'm not one to know what the prices are today in any place let alone the socal area.

If I had a trans. shop and a customer in with your question I would at least ask about and help identify the leak in question. A leak is most likely front or rear seal and a fix would be much less expensive than a blanket reseal of the trans. (Their are internal seals).

If you did want to go with a complete reseal of the trans. a better deal might be asking for an overhaul. After all the trans is out and all apart. :shruggy: and reseal would be part of the overhaul.

If your trans. works just fine but leaks-- identifying the leak would be the first step for an appropriate fix. :Twocents:

Where in SoCal are you taking the car to?

With the exception of the front pump seal (inside the bellhousing), any seal or gasket that leaks externally can be repaired without removing the trans.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.
