Do they install with the deep part above or below.  Couldn't find a picture online showing this.  I did find that if you have a black R/T stripe that the rear housings should be painted semi-gloss black.

Cant really recall anymore, but I think the deep part sits towards the top side.

The body line curves inwards towards the floor. So to put the reflectors more square to the floor surface they need to fall deeper into the body at the top.

Geez, what a shitty explanation but I hope you get what I mean.....

And yes, a common mistake is the housings being painted body color, but they need to be stripe color. Cant tell if they should be gloss or semi gloss though

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Your explanation is spot on six-tee-nine.  I kind of figured that the housings needed to be installed that way so the reflector would be more or less perpendicular to the ground.  I saw on some of the other posts about these things that there are more than one type--the indentation part is deeper on some than others.  I took some off a C-body and they are the deeper type and, so, can't be used on a B-body.  I believe that the A-body housings are the same as the B-body's.

And the orange reflectors go on the front and the red ones on the back.  I'll have to use a spot or two of silicone seal to hold the reflectors into the housings since the little snap-in tabs on the back are broken off.  Sure didn't want to buy new ones when I saw what they cost.

Now just need to paint my two rear housings semi-gloss black so I can get on with the installation.

I just recently bought new housings for mine and yes they are advertised for A and B body's. Front and rear are the same.

That pic nails it for sure.  I'm assuming that you painted the housing with semi-gloss.  Would that be correct?

Originally the stripes were "X" cut with a knife and the housings were installed......you can see that part of the stripe in the trunk. Have a pic somewhere..........here it is on my 69-1/2 Bee  http://www.moparaction.com/article/six-pack/E.jpg
