Thanks for putting the pics up, would have been very interesting to check out the vehicles up close.

I went and saw the movie a few days ago, quite impressive

Great stuff man.

That looks like a lot of good surviving stuff.  Any idea what happened to the wreckage?

The sad thing about this is that the movie is a great movie and it wont make enough for a sequel.......kinda pissed about it since I enjoyed it so much...consider it fast and furious on steroids.

Mike DC

A sequel is already just about guaranteed.  The movie is selling pretty well and the word-of-mouth effect hasn't even been felt yet.  It even got a 99% good from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes.

Right now this movie is the talk of the town.  NOBODY expected the 70yo filmmaker of "Happy Feet" and the two "Babe" pig movies to dust off his old B-movie franchise and make something this good.  This movie was in & out of development for like 15 years, the lead star changed twice, the location changed twice, shooting was drawn out for months, and the budget kept climbing.   They were putting together a rough-cut last fall and it was rumored to be weak.  Warner Bros was probably bracing themselves to lose millions on this movie until just a few weeks ago.

Apparently the main bad guy in this movie is the same from the first movie. According to my brother anyway. :shruggy:

kinda, Its the same actor, im not sure if its intended to be the same character... it would be hard to do considering he was torn to pieces in the first movie

Mike DC

Same actor, different character.

This movie does not fit into the series with old Mad Max movies.  It's the start of a new series from scratch.  The director has suggested there will be at least one prequel taking place before "Fury Road".  Tom Hardy recently signed a contract to play Max for up to 3 more movies.

myk

I'd be very interested in a prequel in the style of the original Mad Max.  I know I'm the only person who doesn't think Fury Road is a masterpiece, but in my opinion this movie was all style and zero substance.  I need a story about people just as much as I do about supercharged muscle cars chasing each other for two hours straight...

Mike DC

I think the movie was simple/sparse but not lacking in substance.  That's two different things.

In fact I think it's harder to give such a simple movie (dramatic) quality than a more complex one.

Fury Road is getting a bit overhyped now.  I suspect it's partly because Mad Max looks like such crap on the surface that most people's expectations for this were really, really low.

I did not think it would hit even close to 100 million on the domestic side here, but its damn near close and worldwide is not over 210 million the cost to make was 150 million I hear.........its a slow earner it seems, but rotten has it still near 98% percent favored a couple bad reviews because one reviewer thought it was, 'real' then realized it was, 'fake'.....

Yeah, sorry, I meant to say same actor, not character.

Just went to see it this past weekend & thought it was really good. My daughter loved it, but my wife said it was just "okay" but didn't dislike it. My daughter liked it enough to start looking up the older Mad Max movies & wants to make a cosplay costume for one of the comic-con events in the near furture. She also said she liked the vehicles in the movie & wants to build something crazy. I may keep that rusty old Coronet after all.

I think seeing it on the big screen was a plus, especially with the sound system the theater by me has.   :2thumbs:

It's a '68 Coronet 500 & a bit rough. I think welding a gun turret on the trunk lid so you can access it from the passenger compartment while the top down would be a big plus.

I enjoyed the movie a lot too. If you work on the cars for the next two movies could you give us a sneak peek of the cars?  :D
