hello all!

Well, time to take the 66 hemi to the track for some 1320's.

What traction bar kit is the best?
Caltracs?
Any suggestions?
I have new springs and shocks all round and am installing a richmond 4:10.
thanks much

Caltracs  :2thumbs: ,
Just don't adjust them up too tight , be prepared to spend some time adjusting them
But overall good product

A threaded adjustable pinion snubber might be a very good place to start though.  Just how much power are you putting down?  Some spring clamps, good rear shocks, unhook the sway bar.

Those 4.10s will get you moving...

I know one guy with an affinity for 63s that swears by Caltracs...Seems like everyone else around here who gets to a similar point goes to a 4-link.  I've only heard good things about Caltracs, but only know from 1 first hand account.

Looking forward to seeing how she runs!

I agree get adjustable pinion snubber first then go from there.....

More info needed. What springs, what shocks, what tires, frequency of track visits,  engine-trans-convertor combo,  street car or track car, trailered or driven?

Have you looked into ground pounders. Stops the chatter and help put more to the pav.....

stock springs, good quality performance shocks, street driven
520 bhp with roller cam.
thanks!

Well, you won't ever get regular street tire to hook worth a hoot if your putting 520 to it with 4:10 gears on the street, traction bars or not. Even a dedicated street slick can be blown off with that much leverage, but it will give you a fighting chance to hook if you are at the track.

With the stock arch spring, a snubber may help create the leverage necessary to plant a dual purpose or dedicated race tire and even that will depend on how much width your putting down. You also can  experiment with moving front clamps and removing rear clamps. This may be the best approach if you are a predominately street car that makes the occasional track run.

If, on the other hand, you plan on racing it regularly, you may want to look at investing in a more race oriented rear suspension set up. In this case, some Cal-tracs may get you where you want before you need to get into further spring and shock replacement.

the snubber works great.

cal-trac if you need more at the track.

Caltracs, leaf springs, stock tubs, 9" wide tire. And this was a low launch.

Beleive it or not, this one has the origonal leaf springs from 1965 under it.... granted its tubbed, but still... lol. This is a true daily driven pump gas street car. It is on yhe road in the snow. Just caltracs on a 12 bolt and a full cage. Full interior and stock front end. Has heavier coils up front. But it really shows what the caltracs can do for a car.
