does anyone know if the centers on a stock black 14 in wheel are the same as 15? I was wondering if you could punch out the center and have a wheel place weld it in a 15 inch ring so you could have 15 sevens. r

No. The 14" centers are, predictably, 1" smaller in diameter than the 15" centers.
Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

There are exceptions. The '450' T/A & Hemi steel wheel is a factory 15" wheel with a 14" style center. The outer rim is wider to the inside diameter.

Another wheel with the same features appeared in later years, they look identical but have a different part number.

yes that's what im trying to find out. Ive heard of the 14 centers and 15 outers before. even GM did that on some of there wheels. And yes the "450" wheel is what im trying to replicate. So maybe we can get more info. r

What would be the factory reason for doing that?  Would it not be cheaper to cast two sizes of wheels?
