Emergency flasher and turn signal relay brackets

Does any one know if the emergency flasher relay and turn signal relay are supposed to be held in place by a bracket under the dash? My relays are just hanging in the harness connectors. Not that it matters much, but it would be interesting to know how it should be. Pics would be great!

Almost forgot, question goes for my Charger -68...

Thanks much.

The brackets you are referring to are a small hex frame with a tab on the back. One attaches to the ash tray housing and the flasher unit just pushes into it, held in by friction. I'm drawing a blank right now on where the other one mounts, but it is identical to the other one. I will take a picture of one of the holders tomorrow.

Yep I used something similar to bulk 68 rt
Mine were similar , spring type steel, flexed over led new flashers, had a snap clip part to them , so you could just clip them to any edge you wanted to , edge of dash,
Brand on mine navara I think ,
I clipped mine to lower edge of dash frame because I wanted to get to them easily, was playing around converting everything to LEDs

Thanks all for the info. I will go the car later today and take a close look under dash. Maybe the clips are still there but I don't think so. Did a quick eBay and google search but came out empty. The clips b5blue have seems to do the job though.

mine were  , one either side of the steering column ,  attached via a bracket / clip thingie to a small slot  in the dash frame  , see pictures below .  mine are no longer in this location ,
Feel free to post any relevant picture you think we all might like to see in the threads below!

Yup just rewired the entire car and used all new round flashers, not square. I installed and let the harness and flasher tell me where to attach the holder best. Stops them from flopping around. Just a cheap easy fix.

the square holders supports both square and round flashers. thats the reason for the outer "flaps" on sides

I was just about to ask that question! Thanks for clearing that out! 👍

Here is a pic of how it attaches to the ash tray. Unfortunately I don't have one of the other mount as I am still working on putting my dash together.

Found one of these spring holders! It was hiding in there. Guess I need to get me one more clamp for the other relay.

By the way, were all relays on 68's the round type?

Nacho-RT74

NOT SURE OF THIS, but I have thought the square are heavy duty from those days ( being nowdays round too ) and round are regular duty.

Tan top...those things that you have the yellow arrows pointing to are not for the flashers, those hold the dash harness in place
