Hydroboost with a serpentine kit

Who's using this combination? What manufacturers do you prefer? Which to stay away from?

I have a serpentine kit & also a hydroboost.
I got the hydroboost from Hydrotech, very happy with it.
Serpentine kit is custom built by a member on Moparts who goes by duster499. Not sure if he's still making them or not but I am very happy with the serpentine kit as well.

I don't think it really matters whether you have a serpentine kit or not, or which brand. The hydroboost plumbs into the P/S pump no matter what pulley system is on it.

Thanks Bill, very nice set up you've got there... I was looking at Billet Specialties belt kit and in the notes said not to use with hydroboost, I wasn't sure if this was common issue. Do you have a disc/disc brake combination? If so what proportion or distribution block did you use?

Jeremy, you might want to contact Billet Specialties directly & ask them why they don't recommend their kit being used with a Hydroboost. Only thing I can think of is perhaps their pulley size being different? Mine looks a little smaller than stock, pump would spin faster.

My car has a Wilwood disc/disc kit. The prop valve I'm using is a GM-style valve, without an additional adjustable valve. Brakes are very balanced.
Here is a early shot when the car was being assembled, this was also taken before I converted the system to Wilwoods. I kept the prop valve the same.

The issue is with the flow rate of the pumps they use. Talk with the tech line at Billet specialties, they can sell you a flow control valve to get it to work with the hydroboost.

Bill's setup is the way to go. I use the same hydroboost setup and power steering pump. But I went with a March Performance belt setup, while I have had zero issues I still wish I went with a true 1 belt setup with idler pulleys. My setup is a 2 belt and uses tension rods.

Thanks guys, I'm going to go with the Hydrotech brakes. I called Billet Specialties, they said that they only stock one pump that's rated 1200psi and 3.5 gpm not recommended for hydroboost set up. Anyone out there have experience with Eddie motorsports?
