Who wants to see a Hellcat in the General Mayhem?

They've teased that enough that I really want to see it happen now. I appreciate the low-buck appeal of the car with the motorhome 440 but it seems to be evolving, and I think it deserves a better power plant.  The swap would also be an interesting/informative project others will probably want to duplicate.

IMO the General Mayhem shouldn't get a Hellcat motor.

It will be years, if not decades, before a nice running Hellcat motor is anything resembling cheap. It would be amusing for an afternoon but it's out of character with the car's entire MoJo.

If they wanna give the car a modern Hemi, okay.  But don't make it a "gift from the magazine gods" engine that costs over 6 months of the owner's pay.

You know the Rotsun doesn't have a engine right now.....

It was nice of them to dedicate the episode to James.

Isn the HELLCAT A MODERN HEMI?  I say do it...lol......what else can do they.....

Shoving a high HP modern mill in vintage iron is HOTRODDING. Swapping flatheads for OHV V-8's, carburators to EFI and in this instance a motorhome engine for a fire breathing, forced induction HELLCAT. I say go for it, whats not to like. Let these guys (with a larger buget) do the trailblazing and we can reap the benifits.  :Twocents:

The Hellcat-into-vintage-Mopar swap will be showing up all over the hobby within another year or two anyway.  It won't take long for it to be on every car magazine cover in the business.  We may get downright tired of seeing it on all the high-dollar cars before the trend slows down.

I'm not objecting to the Mayhem getting a modern mill.  I'm objecting to using a modern mill that is currently way out of character with the car.  The average guy who fabricates a mesh grille to build his low-buck project car does not have much use for Hellcat motor installation tips.  That motor is gonna be far too expensive for at least a few more years.
