Hello,

My car was originally a 400, but previous owner put in a 440 from a 68 (or so he said). It looks like my engine mounts are bad, so i need to replace them. Do i just look for 73 big block mounts, or some kind of hybrid mounts?

On the side note, any diy for swapping engine mounts?

I use Mag Mounts (www.manciniracing.com/benmaset.html).  They hold better but are not the poly mounts which have been known to cause vibration in the frame rails.  To replace the mounts you need to either support the engine up top with a chain or picker, or from under the car with a solid piece of wood across the oil pan and block and then jack it up so you can remove the old and install the new.   :2thumbs:

engine mounts are set for block size and CAR's year ( pre or post 72 ), not by displacement or engine year... ( RBs and Bs are on BB block family )
