Replacing 5/8" wheel studs with 1/2" wheel studs.

I have a narrowed rear end with strange racing axles and 5/8" screw in wheel studs.  I no longer have a need for the 5/8" wheel studs and was wondering if there was either a screw-in reducer or wheel stud designed to screw in to the 5/8" thread but reduced to 1/2"?  Or, has anyone ever replaced the screw in studs with press in?  I'm assuming with the large number of knurl diameters available that I could find one to press into the 5/8" threaded hole but that's just an assumption.  I'd prefer to avoid redrilling the axle if possible.  Any info or ideas would be appreciated.  Thanks.

The 5/8"-18 thread holes in your axle flange should measure .5649" (measure yours to be sure) so you need a press-in stud that will fit that hole.

Pardon me but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Doesn't Strange offer a thread in 1/2" stud? I'd start with them first.
