Distributor rotor turns wrong way?

I was checking valve clearance on this 65 valiant 170 and when turning the engine by the fan I noticed the rotor was going counterclockwise. Which is out of sequence of the firing order. What does that mean or is this correct for a 170 slant six?

all 6 cyl firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4....rotor should rotate clockwise....are you sure you were turning the fan the correct way?

bump the starter and see which way the rotor rotates

Do some of the mopar marine motor stuff turn the opposite direction ?

yes, on V8's.....I never saw a slant 6 marine motor when I was working in the marine trade
