Hi , I know this topic has probably been beaten to death but.... I want to insure my Charger but I want to be able to DRIVE it. If I go for a ride and get hungry I want to stop somewhere and eat ,I want to drive it OCASSIONALLY to work or a friends or ???? NOT just shows or parades or ??? I have seen a lot of people saying American Collectors but after "applying" to 4 or 5 places , American is about $900 - 1000 more than others. I am in Wisconsin.

Looked at ,
Classic Collectors
Grundy
Hagerty
American
Classic Auto

Any of these throwing up a flag??
Thanks

I am in Wisconsin too.....call ANPAC....American Natl Prop & Casalty Insurance. I have a fully restored 69 R/T insured for $50k....No limits on miles driven, roadside assist, etc. etc. Their customer service is awesome. My 6 month premium is only $165....NO ONE else I called could touch that.

Really, that is surprising to me. When I got quotes, American Collectors was the best quote I got and it has no restrictions other than it has to be in a locked garage when I am not using it. IDK, might have something to do with policy or agreed value. NY agreed value is 30k, and my premium is 260 a year (1000 deductible, IIRC)

hagerty

we pay 320 for the whole year, (full coverage, insured for 30K) 10k miles or less policy

But in michigan we only get 6 months to drive it, so 10k miles is more than enough

I have the same thing.  We do pay a bit more here in Mi because of no fault so Wisconsin should be cheaper.

I told the Hagerty agent that I wanted to drive it to work which was fine as long as I had a primary vehicle, insured.

Wow! Thanks for the quick replies. Yes , I am only going to do the agreed at $30,000 also. Maybe , if I can find the time , I'll try calling and talking to a real live person. I could live with three something for a year. Even though ,as others pointed out , it's probably only 6 months here too.

Give a call to Lars Anderson at Rally Insurance, (800) 801-1823.   He will get you a quote from several different collector car companies.    They are in Volo IL.   I have a collector car policy purchased through him.    Rates varied quite a bit from one company to another.    The one that had the best deal for me was Classic Collectors.

I got my insurance through www.ncminsurance.com

Ask for Adam or Bobbie Jo

The agreed value policy lets me occasionally drive when I want to. Check them out.

Same here. (Different premium quotes, though.)  :icon_smile_wink:

Their premiums are higher for a modified compared to stock.

I have Hagerty. Easy company to work with and their rates are very fair. Also, being an auto insurance claims guy that I am, they have very good claim service. Should you ever need it. Most people don't think about that when they're shopping around but when it matters, it really matters...
