What the hell is a 2.2 interior trim code for a 72 Charger??? Never heard of it. Is this BS or legit???

I didn't know that a full size spare tire was an option :shruggy:

Steel wheels an option :shruggy:

Alloy wheels or steel wheels which one is it :smilielol: :smilielol: :smilielol:

That's funny.....these people amaze me (in a dumb way) when they post items for sale without doing any research. Its appears that his automotive "IQ" is only 2.2!   :icon_smile_tongue:

24 photos of just the outside of the car.  ::)

The white on white combo is sharp, though. As it sits, not 8K sharp.

I know this this thread was created back in March, but I thought I'd chime in since I just so happened to find this thread.

I am now the owner of this '72 Charger, bought it back in late July (and yes......for 8k).  :2thumbs:

It had goofy lookin' Chrysler wheels on it, 17X8's all around. Alpine White paint with white cracked vinyl top, and green interior. Seats all torn to shit, no headliner.  :2thumbs:

Bunch of electrical gremlines, turn signals didn't work......when I got them to work my driver side tail light wouldn't work from good ol' gravity on the signal lever by about .040" of slop downward. Every nut and bolt rusted, snapped about half of them already. Motor and tranny ran OK, but leaked every damn fluid y'all can think of (my driveway never looked worse within the past 5 months). Had no exhaust system left, muffler looked like someone put a tiny stick of C4 inside and detonated it.  :2thumbs:

Front end was soooo bad the tires would screech loudly while bending at even 35mph! (now that was embarrasing).  :eek2:
It floated and wandered severely at moderate speed, etc.

The list can go on of course, as with any old project someone buys. Why did I purchase this car for 8k? Maybe because I'm young and didn't care too much.

But anyhow a lot of work has been done to the car within the past five months. The shape was sort of rough from what I've explained but it did run!

I'm only 22 and this is my first Charger (dream year '69), never restored a car before in my life. Well it's coming along, and I have pictures for anyone who'd even be interested in seeing a young first timer's progress, since especially you guys saw the car in the ad months ago I'm sure.

As far as the seller in Tulsa goes, he was a pleasant guy to deal with. I don't know what the trim code deal is all about myself (although it says 2.2 on the paperwork I have as well lol). But the car originally had body side trim, on top of full vinyl trim and wheel well trim (for whatever trim code that would apply to).

But anyhow, I just found this thread and thought I'd share my story with you guys. Like I said, I'm young and a die hard MOPAR guy. The project is coming along great, just a lot of money thrown at it so far. I think you guys would be impressed with the before and after photos!

For the guy here who appreciated the granny white on white combo, sorry.......car does NOT look like that anymore  :icon_smile_wink:

I'll post photos here in a couple days, even if no one reads this. It's not everyday someone shares a buying story about a car you were all just talking about months ago.

When I die, I'm goin' to hell in a Mopar

Welcome. So long as there is progress, the rest is water under the bridge.  I look forward to seeing more and hearing of your work on this car.  :2thumbs:

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

Weird because the start of the thread is taking apart the ad, and the next part has the self assured owner?

Or because when you read the title of the thread, you thought (like me) "a 2.2L in a 1972 charger, that option wasn't offered until the early 80's?"

I hope my post doesn't come across as flip, I am just curious.
