Anyone catch the episode of Counting Cars with the 2 Mopar convertibles? Not sure if it was a repeat but it was on last night.  I usually dont get bothered by stuff on these shows since most of it is made up but did anyone see the clapped out gauge cluster that the boneyard sold the guys on the show for 2K?   I literally screamed at the TV, my wife thought I was out of my mind.

I can just see people now putting them on Ebay for 2K because of what they saw, sort of like BJ auctions effect on people's selling prices.

I didnt think they turned out that bad in the end though, they were tasteful in their "touches" on the stripes, didnt put 14 skulls on it or anything.

Saw it last night and my jaw dropped when the scrapyard guy initially wanted $2500 for the RR gauge cluster... I was like "Who in their right mind would even entertain such a ludicrous price?"  Even my wife was like WTF, how is that even possible.

It was a new episode and I enjoy watching counting cars!

The cluster thing was all for show only.  Part of that reality TV fakeness.

The roadrunner was sweet!

I thought the same thing, i about soiled myself when they guy said $2500 for that cluster!! They may not be a dime a dozen but they sure aren't THAT rare, either it was just for the show (wow factor) or they salvage yard guy saw a big opportunity to screw a couple morons (they are both morons no doubt). Either way, 2K for rough gauge cluster is just ridiculous! But, i got to thinking, i have my 68 Rally gauge cluster out of my Charger sitting on my work bench debating on where to send to get it restored, if it's worth 2k+ maybe i'll just sell it and buy a brand new Dakota Digital gauge cluster for $900 and be over a grand to the good after all is said and done!! LOL  :D  ;)

Stripe killed the RR IMHO :rotz:

I totally agree. Tailstripes should only be on dodges, period.

I do enjoy the show though. If they would have done their twist to the road runner birds, but placed them in the proper places I'd be onboard.

I was totally surprised how correct they did things in the engine bays, they never go to totally stock resto under the hood.

I like the show as well, one of my favorites of all the ones out there, certainly had their share of Mopars over the last few years.   I remember a clean white 68 Charger that they did work on, I believe all they had to do is put a motor in it, they got a crate 440 or a Hemi, cant remember, the car was a beast!

I was also shocked about how stock everything looked, very refreshing, glad they didnt go the Foose route and shave everything, put gigantic wheels, etc. Ive got total respect for what Chip does as its top notch, but it was great to see them just do it the way they did.

They seem to do nice work. The paint jobs always look killer and the body panels look razor straight. I wish they would show a little more of the restoration process and less of those two monkeys Horny Mike and Rolie- No disrespect to any monkey was intended.
