Had my car advertised on line. original unrestored 1970 Charger R/T. Below is a comment I got from a guy wanting to lowball me. The people I gotta deal with is rediculous.



so now that we have proven you are a liar.  your car is NOT an r/t but a standard charger with a 318 non numbers matching and you are the scam artist trying to rip off some guy that you think you can snow.  have a good one you fucking moron.  i have thoroughly enjoyed yanking your chain and will be posting this on every dodge charger forum i can find.  I am sure you will be called out.  so remember just say no to drugs.

I have been selling on Ebay for over 15yrs.  Sold everything from cars to parts and everything in-between.  Also, ran into people with low ball offers and nasty comments because they did not get their way.  People that would win the item and then try to get a shipping discount.  Winning bidders that fail to pay.  Winning bidders that failed to pay on time and asked for payment extensions.  People telling me my price/shipping is to high and would never bid.  I can keep going......  In turn I had to limit in Ebay who can buy from me to eliminate these issues.  Between those hassles and the Ebay buyer protection b.s..  I very rarely sell on Ebay anymore.

Nowadays, if I was selling a car I would first list it on Cars on line and second would be Moparts.

Based, on your experience I assumed it was Ebay, lol.  I am kinda shocked it was cars on line.  A few months back I sold my friends 68 charger on cars on line.  It sold in a week and we did not have any run ins like you experience.  Just a couple tire kickers.  Although, those behaviors can vary in different cities/counties in states I guess 

In the end it is frustrating as Hell selling anything.  Current media through the years made the public believe they can get it for any price and the seller is hurting for cash, so he has to sell.  So untrue!!

Yeah, everybody wants to feel you out to see if your are desperate to sell. They figure if you are desperate & need cash fast then they can lowball you & try to take advantage of your poor situation your in. So they offer half of whats it's worth so they can then flip it & double there money. I'm not desperate or in a rush so it don't work. They don't like that & can cop a bad attitude quick. LEON.

Selling cars is not something I've done much but I've found it can be frustrating.

A buyer emailed me about my car for sale and followed up with a phone call. He wanted the car and excepted the ad description without any questions.---first alert--

I asked him how would he expect the deal to close?  He said he would pay cash and come for the car. I said no to the cash deal.  I wanted a bank transfer. He said ok but only could pay 50k now and the rest a few weeks later. ---hmm another alert---

I said no to the partial payment and would hold the car on a verbal  agreement till three weeks (his time line for the funds).

We were in touch by phone a few times to chat about the time line and that I had two others now on hold until my verbal agreement with him was up. He said all was on track including permission from his wife

So now the time was up and I called him. He said he had the funds and was ready.  I waited a bit and asked when he would be driving to get the car cause I needed to adjust my work needs to meet him. He said a few checks needed to clear his bank but otherwise was ready. I said he needed my bank account number to wire transfer.  He said oh yeh I do need that.---alert again---

I emailed the bank acc. number---(separate account  just for this transaction)--- and my address (that he needed to find the car).  After a couple of days I called him again.  He said he is ready to go.  This is a week after the time I said I would hold the car for him.

I sent him an email saying that I renewed my listing for the car for sale and have contacted the other two interested buyers to let them know.

He sent me two nasty emails about what a game playing liar I was.

What I got out of this is---Who's driving this car/transaction?---  I let a stranger play me for a few weeks and may have missed a real buyer.

This experience goes into my bank and I am ready for the next one  The jackasses in this world force the rest of us to defend ourselves.

I've sold a few Chargers now. I'm not fun to deal with anymore, but I find I've become very efficient at getting what I'm asking for and without any BS. Too many tire kickers and low ballers, and I just don't have patience for it anymore.

I had this assclown call me from G U A M on a 73 Challenger I had for sale. This dork raped my ear three times a week for 45 minutes each time. I was really hoping for a big payday on the car so I put up with it. Of COURSE the jerkoff didn't buy the car. He probably just wanted a buddy.

I have heard these stories over and over for years. I think VegasMike got raped when he sold his 68' and his 65',but that was when everyone was hurting. I have really only had one bad deal with me being the seller. It was a cheap sure grip from a later model cop car. I opened the thing up and showed the twin rubber stripes and sold it dirt cheap. The guy brings it along with his car to some dingbat back yard "mechanic' and then calls me screaming about how I screwed him... 15 minutes of this asshat screaming at me and him telling me he was going to kill me and on and on. I literally set the phone down until he quit screaming at me. I then asked him what it was doing. He said: EVERY CORNER I TURN THIS THING IS BANGING LIKE HELL!! Now every one of us here knows what that is, RIGHT? He had told me when he picked it up, that he lived close to a Chevy dealer for a landmark. I even told him then that he could use POSI LUBE from GM and it would be fine. So he knew before he dropped a dollar that it was needed.. I sold this idiot the complete rear end for $100.00... Who knows what he paid this SAID MECHANIC, but even the moron mechanic that pulled the sure grip and put it into his rear axle said there had to be something wrong with it... (EVEN THOUGH HE HAD IT ALL APART!!!  That was the day that moron 1 met moron 2. After reminding him about the sure grip lube I never heard from him again. He didn't even have the humanity to call back and apologize. Not that I expected it.

I had a similar experience in person.

A guy came (with his friend) in a BMW. He wanted my 68 charger, asked why I was selling etc. I told him I needed to get rid of it. He pulled out 20,000 cash and said he would take it right away.

I said "what am i meant to do with 20? Cars cost me 40,000 already... make it 35,000 and its yours"

He then proceeds to say he hasn't got/cant afford any more money (yet he came in a BMW??? - O yeah, his friend covered that one as it was his friends one apparently).

He lived on north shore beaches though which means in Sydney his house is worth milions.

Guy said I have to sell it because it will rot where it is and i cant afford to keep it due to my situation.

I said i cant sell for 20 as thats half the price of what it costs, after all, im the one in need of money, not you so dont be stupid.

He said if i dont sell for 20, he will go away, never come back, and can even get a car that week for 20.

Anyways i told him to leave as id rather risk it rotting than giving it away to some rich dude for free trying to take advantage of a person in need of $.

1 day later he rings me, my 20k offer is there, i wont call you again as il be getting one better than yours for 20 this week.

I said good luck.

3 days later he rings me (after getting back from that 20k deal he was telling me about) and said hes still offering me 20k if interested.

What happened to that 20k dream car?
