This was posted in the for sale area, for random CL listings.  But, I thought people would want to be more aware of this car.  Who would cut that car up or have just used it for parts? Many people would give there left arm for a start like that.  I can only "guess" it was potentially going to be used for a rebody or is possibly a stolen car??  It is listed as having a title, but NO vin numbers ANYWHERE and No fender tag.

From the ad:

PLEASE READ THIS! This is sheet metal only! Its a rolling body with two doors and two fenders. Nothing else!! NOTHING ELSE! NOTHING ELSE - DONT ASK!

There is a title but NO VIN stamping on the body or VIN plate on the dashboard or Fender Tag.

Nothing that ties the vehicle to the title. I bought it as a parts car but never cut it up.

Do not waste my time with stupid questions. If you are in this hobby and understand how rare it is to see clean original sheet metal, then the value of this car is inherent. My 68 is done and I don't need these parts. Resist the urge to contact me with stupid questions. Serious buyers only who want clean bodies.

EDIT:  I am not trying to be harsh to the seller.  It could be read as he bought it to remove parts from the body, but just did not cut it up.  The issue is what could happen to it after it is sold.  I guess it would be a good drag car.  I would personally want to know how it came to be, before I owned it.

Scared me for a moment. I sold one a few years ago just like that. The body shop closed down without returning our dash and VIN. I tried like hell to find the VIN, finally I sold to a guy who wanted as a racecar.

if I bought it and stamped my VIN on it would that ok?

Body looks to be in great shape and Ill transfer everything over

Sure, I can see that happening as well.  I am not claiming it is either of the above.  The current seller may have had an even cleaner car and just stripped it completely.  But, he sure doesn't want you to ask any questions on the subject.

Yes! maybe for you.  Not so sure the boys in blue would agree.

It would be a shame not to be able to build that car for sure.

Ghoste

Should be sold on a bill of sale only and used for a drag car. :Twocents:

PlainfieldCharger

I contacted this guy to go look at it 2 days after it was listed...sold :flame:

Patronus

Well, hope it went to a good home. I would have absolutely no problem going to the DMV and getting a builders vin for that...if it were a '70.  :D
It will be a point when you go to sell it though.
