Well, I've been taking things apart for a long time now, and have made numerous structural repairs. The time finally came to bring the Charger to the shop however, so we trucked it over there a short while back. There is still a good deal of work to be done, but I really needed to get the shell blasted to really see everything. The shop blasted my Charger about a week ago, but I haven't been able to get over there and check it out due to some medical issues. Medical issues are finally over,  so I went to the shop yesterday to see the Charger. Good news is there were no NEW surprises... In fact, there were a few areas that I was really worried about, but they turned out great, they just looked bad when they were covered in crap.
I was there for a few hours yesterday morning, discussing the Charger's future. I also brought my Rust Bullet Paint up to the shop so they can get started with that. The rest of the body will receive a basic primer for now, just something to keep it from rusting while we're working on it.
It was basically a big bull session yesterday, talking with the guys and stuff. I ran a few errands with Wayne, the owner of the shop, before heading off to work.

I truly have been blessed here! Unlike most body shops, these guys are so eager to get started, that oddly enough, I'm the guy who's usually holding things up!

Yesterday, Wayne's nephew Brian asked my permission to start posting pic's of the Chargers restoration on their Facebook page, so for those of you folks who have FACEBOOK, please feel free to visit their Facebook page from time to time and post your comments. I'm sure they'd appreciate it.

In the mean time, here's a few pic's from the shop...

The shell looks pretty good, what a bonus!

Cool, I'll cut to the chase -  :icon_smile_big:  what are the plans for colour combos, drivetrain  and wheels MM

We're still a long way from color yet. The quarters are all F'd up from half assed repairs in the past, and there are a few other minor patches that need to go in. Then we can start tugging on the chassis to get it straight again. Then we'll start stiffening the chassis and stuff. Then we'll be close to color... Still thinking about the paint.
It's been a long road with all the disassembly and repair work up to now. I took care of 99.9% of the structural issues when I had the car back at the house, but I took it to the shop for the quarter panel repairs and everything else that follows. I'll still be working side by side with the guys at the shop, but it is in their more than capable hands now. They don't make quarters for 1st Gens, but there is a guy at the shop named Chuck that can turn a flat piece of sheet metal into any shape required, so he's all over it, the guys an artist. I've finally reached that turning point in the process, where things will start moving in the other direction now, and start coming together for a change, instead of coming apart, and that's a good feeling brother!

I have my 505 street build that I intend to use for the engine. The 505 has brutal low end torque, so it will be a lot of fun around town and on the highways, which has been my intension since day one. Behind that will be a 727 Auto. The 727 is a shorty with a GV unit attached. I used the short tail housing so I wouldn't have to shorten the drive shaft to much, which has less overall effect on the original drive line angles. Behind that will be my 8-3/4 rear, a 489 with 3.23 gears. I had 295/50/15 BFG tires on the back before the restoration started... I could go larger, but I probably won't. Other than that, you can probably expect to see a Hotchkis TVS style suspension system added on there.

I'll be keeping this thread up to date with the progress.

Thanks Tom

Yeah, I'm still here... Things have been pretty hectic, but were getting back in the groove now. I still have a busy year ahead of me, full of distractions, but the Charger will not be neglected. I'm pretty sure the boys at the shop will make certain of that.
