Friend is selling this Charger on his car lot

I agree.  Right now to make the bidding jump you need to find two guys with deep pockets who mainly want it BECAUSE of the odd color.  Not easy to find.

charger_fan_4ever

imo another color interior would not lower the value, but i dunno if i'd pay more for it if it had say a black interior. Hard to say. I'd say a different interior would help it sell faster at the advertised 49k price.

TUFCAT

Its much cheaper is U.S. Dollars...   :yesnod:  I'd try to make a deal if I had the requisite dough now.

Drache

Your average Charger owner won't pay that for the car because of it's wacky color and option choices (like the Right side headrest only sort of thing).

The person who would buy this car is the collector who wants a numbers matching car that has outrageous options never before seen.

There is a reason why a car is "one of one" and in this case the "one of one" color combo doesn't necessarily make it more desirable.

TUFCAT

Yes, but there's that percentage of people who seek out the odd balls. This car would definitely be one of them.

If I tally up the options on my '68 Hemi car, I can pretty much guarantee that it is a "one of one" car, but to me, it doesn't make it any more special.

There usually seems to be an order of how most judge the "rarity"

no...either the seller or the guy that bid $44K cancelled that bid, which puts it back down to the highest bid without that buyers high bid

MxRacer855

Great looking car!  :2thumbs:

Can't say the interior/exterior color combo match that well though..

was about to say that...a lot of bidders FISH FOR THE RESERVES since the seller wont disclose it thinking once they meet reserve bidders cant retract it or something  ::)

472 R/T SE

So reserve your auctions at a million bucks.

That way it's easier to see someone who keeps "accidentally" (fishing) entering the wrong bids.   :shruggy:

Ghoste

If there is a BIN, I just figure the reserve can't be too far from that.  :shruggy:

Challenger340

So I see it is SOLD and gone from Ebay as well ?

Seems to me the last time I looked at Ebay that the auction price in U.S. Dollars, was more than the $49K Canadian asking on the Lot ?

Anybody catch what it sold for ? and in U.S $ or Canadian peso's ?

Redmanf1

It did not sale.
To me it looks like most the bids were buddies and ran up the auction, then the auction canceled to try to catch a sucker............. The car is a very nice car with bad colors and most likely be a hard sell. In my opinion they should have not ran an auction trying to trick buyers. They would have been better off just running a buy it now sale with their asking price...

I thought his asking price was $49,900.00 Ca? That would be 49,900. CAD = 40,067 USD

Looking at eBay he had several bids over the $40K Us
So to me yes it does look fishy when the car brings over asking price and auction is canceled .... No sale
