Hello all,
I am building a pro-touring type build for my 69 charger, I have a 470 stroker motor and since I plan on auto crossing it from time to time, is it really necessary to get one of these road race pan's?  or will the stock one be good enough?
any insight would be great thanks

IMO, yes. If you are auto crossing it, I'd recommend the pan or an accusump set up. It only takes a second of oil starvation to trash $5000 or more worth of engine parts. Makes that $400 oil pan see cheap at that point.

Now, if you know how to baffle the stock pan and maybe install a few gates to keep the sump covered, you could get away with it, but the extra oil capacity you will be lacking could still put you at risk for sucking the pan dry.

thanks, I just wanted some advice to see if its really necessary
