How to remove rocker molding trim?

Can anyone tell me how to remove the rocker molding trim without damaging the clips that it is mounted on?

Trim is not Original from back in 69 but it's an aftermarket kitt including clips. Bodyshop mounted it on the car and I didn't see them do it.

No one ever removed one

On my 70 Charger one screw at rear easy to see, right at the front a metal clip with a retainer axes from from behind front guard. All the other plastic clips could not save broke getting molding off, as the are push on clips.

In 69, each side has one screw near the end nearest the rear wheel, easy way is to get a trim tool, preferably plastic to pry up the bottom edge gently until you hear it pop off the clips bottom edge, continue along the bottom working your way to the front, the front edge has a bolt with a nut securing it from the inside fenderwell, don't try to pry the front part until you loosen the nut.  Once the whole bottom edge is loose, just lift upward and it will come off the tops without pulling.  That is IF they used stock style clips.  The clips come out of the body with a little bit of prying on either top or bottom, they just snap into the holes.  

If you break a clip don't worry you can get replacements online, the only one you want to be careful with is the front most clip that has a spring loaded end on it.  

Repops do not have the screw hole near the rear wheels.  Deciding if I want to drill a hole in mine or not.  Reinstalling is easy, just place over the tops of each clip, then push gently on the bottom till you hear it pop on.  Don't push too hard or you could dent the repops, the originals feel a little sturdier.

If you are lazy or cheap, just get a large screwdriver, wrap the end in duct tape so you don't scratch paint, and use it or a putty knife to pop off the clips.
