what you read.... This VGC was REALLY POPULAR down here, way before the Nintendo came up to play. Intellevision was in the middle, but even got better game graphics and games, wasn't so popular like the Atari...maybe because the price, maybe because the hard to  understand controls, and Atari joystick and paddle simplicity.

I still have mine in working order ( woodgrain 4 sticks buttons, not the earlier 6 sticks ). Althought my first one was the black one, got damaged and when my cousing grown up, he gave me his one.

several Joysticks ( I think 7 ) where just one is perfect, one is repaired by me when I was a teenager ( they always damaged getting broken wires on conector end ), and two more repairable ( don't response on one or two directions ). Some more don't work at all. Probably easy to fix BUT found locally some NOS STILL ON BOXES being sold DIRTY CHEAP.

Couple of Paddles sets, one original in working order, one aftermarket/replacement which just one of them on set doesn't response to the button. Have another aftermarket/replacement set parted out LOL. will find another original set to be able to play 4 players with original pieces

Couldn't find my Indy500 game controls, but I have found them around being sold. Will get them soon.

Never got the keyboard controls or their games, but mostly sure will work on that, although checking, the games related with these controls seems to be kinda boring

Do some of you guys got still this VGC around ? LOL.

If you think on get rid off, I would love to get some games I never got back in the days :)

I played it a ton back when i was a [very young] kid in the early/mid 80's with older cousins and uncles. I never had a 2600 myself, but did have the oddball 7800 for a couple of years before I upgraded to a NES. It was backwards compatible w 2600 games, so I could play those on it. For whatever reason, most 7800-specific games sucked, except for Pole Position II and Asteroids II, so i just borrowed 2600 games from the aforementioned older relatives. I was addicted to some helicopter game off the 2600...cant remember the name ("Chopper...something"?).

Of course, once the NES and Sega consoles came out, it was game over (see what I did there?) for ATARI.

no one 2600 game was so advanced to get into the 1st person view LOL. I don't think that was posible on any one of those vintage video consoles

I still have several vintage consoles. My father's original Pong console game that he bought after quitting smoking as a reward  :2thumbs:.  2 or 3 intellivisions with most of the games and speech, 2 texas instruments computers with all of the old Scott Adams cassette games. Colecovision with the terrible hand controls.  Sega master system with all of the games, Dream System, PS1, PS2.   Some day I want to set them up in the basement with the old TVs I have, the kids get a kick out of it. Now you can buy both intellivision and Atari that plugs into any TV with like 40 games installed already.

I have craploads of games for my 2600 and 7800 consoles. Both are still operational. My favorite 2600 game is "Kaboom!".  There used to be an Internet  download of that game that I played on my XP based laptop. Still have a Sega withe the "Streets of Rage" and "Lethal Enforcers" games too. I also still have a few ColecoVision games, but a functional console is not easy to find. I used to play "Turbo" for hours on end. The enjoyment level of that game was not surpassed until Gran Turismo was released on the PlayStation.

Nacho, you are not alone in wanting old video gaming systems.  I have collected them for about thirty years, ever since I got my first Atari 2600 system way back when as a kid.  From that era of video gaming, I have six of the Atari 2600s, one Atari 5200 and one Atari 7800 gaming system.  The Atari 7800 is the rarest to find and had less games released total, as it competed against the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1985.  I have about 200 of the Atari 2600 games (some in the original boxes) safely stored away from sunlight and high heat.  I have an Mattel Intellivision system (with 50+ games in the boxes) as well as a Colecovison system (with 40+ games) and a Magnovox Odessy II (in it's box with all of its games).  As soon as the NES was released, it basically killed off the other gaming systems one by one.  I have five of the NES systems (one system in the box) with about 80+ games (a few are MIB, never played with ones).  It may seem like I was a rich kid growing up, but that is simply not the case.  After the NES was released, I actively watched for them at garage sales and bought them cheap (most I paid for a system was $50).  I have even found some older systems that were thrown away by others because they got tired of them, so I recovered them for myself for parts.  (That makes me sad on how wasteful we are with technology. :icon_smile_dissapprove:)  I have continued to collect them over time, always a generation or two behind the newest gaming consoles.  I will say that the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) is fairly hard to find compared to the NES stuff, as people actively still play some of the SNES games.  If I ever get enough money, I would like to build a museum to video games and gaming systems, as it played a big part on how my generation grew up.....

Here is some video gaming systems to look for from the 1970s:

I have all consoles from the NES to present except for the 3DO and the Xbox One.  I just wish I had the time to play with them...

hmmm...maybe it wasn't Chopper Command, but I distinctly remember a game where at least for a few seconds it switched to an "inside the cockpit" view. It was very rudimentary and totally what you'd expect from an Atari's capabilities...just a sight in the middle of the screen, and part of it was that you had to land the chopper/plane without crashing it.

Nice Ponch!!! I think will search for that game! seems to be REALLY interesting. But I think you said were able to switch between 3rd and 1st person view ? ( thats was what I said wasn't posible on these old games )  or it was JUST 1st person view ?

FOUND MY MISSED COMBAT CARTRIDGE... ;D

Yes!!! I'm agreed with all of you.. NES was what killed the previous consoles

Hey guys!!! If you think on get rid off of some games, I'll be there to get some. BUT HEY, I just want the old fashion look cartridges from older to newer... the ones with just letters, the ones with grapichs and the ones with graphics over the silver decal and red stripe ( actually the 2600 named generation )... I would like just get those. There are several variations of these according with the year production, but that's not important to me

AND the oldies Activision ones

even I have some NEWER cartridges versions and couple more other brand made, these are the only ones actually I'd like to collect

pretty sure its just 1st person for this game. the switching thing was a result of my confusion of the two games.

yeap, 1st person:

Product Information
Air Raiders is a first-person air combat game in which you attempt to shoot down enemy aircraft while avoiding anti-aircraft fire. You must also keep track of the plane's fuel, ammunition, and altitude. The top portion of the screen serves as the cockpit window where you spot and target enemy planes, while the lower part of the screen is dedicated to gauges indicating fuel, ammunition, altitude, number of kills, and the plane's position in relation to flak zones.

As the player banks left and right, a marker slides back and forth on the flak bar below. When the plane enters the red portion of the bar, the player is more likely to be hit by anti-aircraft fire. Setting the left difficulty switch to "A" makes it more difficult to escape enemy flak.

You are allowed to land and refuel after you hit ten enemy planes. This can only be done a limited number of times, however, because each time you refuel you lose some ammo. You receive as much ammo as the number of enemy kills you made last time up in the air. The game is over if your plane crashes, or if you run out of ammunition and are unable to take off.

I was in high school in the 80s and practically grew up with console systems in my hands and spent so many hours in arcades during those years they probably should have charged me rent.  :icon_smile_big:  Before I was out of high school I was buying arcade games and pinball machines and I now have an arcade in my basement.  :2thumbs:

A few of my favorites from those days, lets see here... Yars Revenge, Pitfall, Adventure, Combat... I personally had a coleco vision. Sold that off years ago though.

I see Atari console games for sale on cragislist constantly (because I am typically searching for Arcade games).  If you are looking for anything and need any help getting them to you let me know.
