Something as simple as a piece of hose cut to the proper height, and slipped over the hood pin will hold the hood the correct height.

Thanks JB! That's actually a really good idea. I might try to do something like that with a piece of silicone and rubber washer or something. It just has to look good.

I definitely will do Plainfield!   Pretty scary looking, huh? I promise it's more structurally sound than it appears!  :yesnod:
You have to swing out here to Aurora one of these days and show me what I'm missing!!! Intersection of Kirk and Butterfield!

Thanks Pat!
I asked my friend about the paint...
He said it's House of Kolor's BC25.
I quote "the blackest black you can get"
He used a lot of clear on it too. We were hoping that would minimize the damage if (more like when) a rock or piece of debris takes a chip out.

Jeff, the paint came out absolutely stunning - WOW!  :drool5:
HOK paint is actually reasonably priced compared to the PPG or Dupont equivalent. I painted my Fatboy last year with their Shimrin line and was very pleased. Be cautious on their clear, as it lacks the UV protection of the other 'high-end' products. I'm sure you'll keep that baby in the garage, so that's not really an issue. Also, it took a full month for the clear to achieve full hardness.

Keep the pics coming...

MxRacer855

Thanks for the props and advice Nick!
Will definitely be keeping her indoors.
The tank looks great!! I love the color you went with. :2thumbs: Glad to hear others are using HOK products and having great experiences with them like I am.

Suspension looks great. I can't wait to feel the difference vs. the smoked stock bars and leafs.

Looking great and moving right along!

MxRacer855

Just finished sound/heat proofing the floor and firewall/under dash.  :coolgleamA:

MxRacer855

I used aluminum tape on all of the edges thanks to a recommendation by a member.  ;)

MxRacer855

 :yesnod:
I started installing some of the bracing and dash pieces.
I just painted them in Chrysler silver (textured).
The wiper retainer clip looks rusted in the pic, but that's just the finish on it.

MxRacer855

The mat is overlaps in a few spots, but I don't think the thickness on the floor will be a problem.

MxRacer855

I decided to use the stock insulation as well since I didn't cover up the holes on the firewall when doing the body work.
I also Dynamatted above the dash completely so that I don't need to run that insulation.

MxRacer855

Few shots of above the dash.

MxRacer855

I put the brake pedal assembly and the Wilwood manual tandem master w/proportioning valve.
I had to by the 4-to-2 bolt adaptor from Mopar Performance along with their adjustable

The stock pushrod was way too short after the conversion.
For some reason... the adjustable pushrod looks like it may be too long even when fully shortened.
I'll have to take a close look when the time comes.
Some modification may be necessary.
