Thanks 1970!   :2thumbs:
Do you mind posting a pic of the stripe on your car?
I know I asked you a while back and you did, I just forgot where those were.
I was hoping mine came out a little darker like yours, but still beyond happy!  :icon_smile_big:

Paint looks awesome!!  :drool5:  Amazing work going into this build  :2thumbs:

Just curious, how long was the wait on the Fesler hinges? I've had mine on order since November and they keep telling me a couple more weeks?  :shruggy:

Thanks Pat!

White and Red - They were maybe 3 weeks. That was back in September or October though...
I think they told me they had a few left at the time, so maybe they ran out and had to make a whole new batch?  :shruggy:
6 months sounds a little ridiculous though.  :Twocents:
Hope ya get them soon!  :2thumbs:

Jeff

Thanks Jeff  :2thumbs:  Damn, I guess I missed that last run of them. I got the same polished ones and can't wait to get them installed. I bought them during a big sale so I figured they were backed up on orders but now it's getting ridiculous.

I'd say so.
That's a long wait!

They don't have a specific ETA for you?

Wow that is a long time to wait.  :o
I ordered mine during a "trunk hinge month sale special" from Fesler & got them quite quickly. Mine are natural not polished, though. Still nice & bright.
Toughest part to install them was removing the back seat.

Hood hinges look nice!

This car is coming along very nicely! Can't wait to see more progress pics!

Just got off the phone with them and the hood hinges are in line to be cut. Should be a couple more weeks. Trunk hinges are ready but I wanted them to ship both together rather than pay an extra $20 for shipping.

Yeah it is Bill, but I got them for 30% off during the black Friday sale so I don't want to cancel the order. At least it is a cosmetic piece, if it was something keeping the car off the road then I'd be going crazy.

That's actually the only repop.
The original bezels were in terrible shape, so I just opted to replace them altogether. You can find them usually for a little over $200.

White and red - 30% off is huge! Wish I got that discount, even with the wait! :2thumbs:

MxRacer855

Okay guys... after being EXTREMELY busy lately, I'm ready to get back to posting updates!!!

MxRacer855

The paint is all finished (after 11 months)!!!
I couldn't be happier with the job my good friend did for me.

Pictures just don't do the car justice.  :icon_smile_big:

The stripes are a beautiful color.  :yesnod:
They're a metallic, charcoal grey, but the sun is reflecting off of them making them look gold. The color is Galaxy Grey from House of Kolors (all of the materials are House of Kolors product).
I'll post a better pic of the color.  :coolgleamA:  :coolgleamA:  :coolgleamA:

Loading it up. Short cruise so I used a trailer a little too "sketchy" for my liking, but convenient.

Yeah, it definitely will...  :'(  :rotz:
Fortunately, the guy who painted the car is a close friend. So that connection will definitely come in handy with maintenance!  ;)
Thanks!

MxRacer855

Forgive this extremely sketchy and scary trailer. I promise it was very reinforced (a fabricator friend uses it to transport steel shop tables he builds) and I was only driving a short distance!

MxRacer855

Fesler billet hinges test fit before wet sanding.

MxRacer855

Trunk hinges (before wet sanding and struts installed)

MxRacer855

Hood pins (before wet sanding).
I really liked the location of them. We decided to install the pins through the holes that house the bump-stops for adjusting the hood (again, for preferred location).
Now I'm going to have to find a way to be able to adjust the hood height and hold it in place.

MxRacer855

Starting to slowly put it back together.
