Looks like a good deal on a 57-58 plymouth 2dr hardtop.
Getting hard to find the hardtops it seems.
Maybe some forward look era guys can save it.

Wow. A real once in a lifetime catch right there. Would love to be in a place to put that on my "to do" list. :yesnod:

I wonder how hard it would be to find the other half of the missing grill.  I bet Cooter would buy this.

Not as hard as it might seem. There is a old junkyard 30 min from me with two 57s.
They wanted $150 for a complete grill in 05.
Another yard I used to go to had a 58 hardtop and 57 sedan.

NOPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's a 57 with 58 tail lights. (Notice the f*cked up angle they are at if you don't know how to mod the body. Lazy asses. Looks to be a Fury. If so, it's worth SOME money, but without title, this thing is destined to sit.

Cooter the ad says its a 57 savoy trimmed out like a fury.
Idk about where your at but a solid hardtop in the rust belt title or not for 2k is a seller all day long.

Here in Kansas, if it's over 50 years old, all you need is a bill of sale.  They do have to inspect it though.

It looks like the other half of the grill is laying on the shelf behind the passenger side fender.

It's pretty easy to get a title in MN using a form they call the Statement of Facts.  I just went through the process with my 1954 Power Wagon.  I had to take pictures of all sides, submit the form and an application for a new title.  I had a clear title back in 2 months.

Never said it wasn't worth money. Only thing is title problems plague antique car buyers.
especially, in states where titles are required. I wouldn't buy/build another F.look if this was free.

Btw: nothing that old is as solid as the pics appear.

I wouldn't mind building one of those someday, maybe...  I wouldn't go the Christine route but do something different.
I'd imagine chrome, interior, etc costs are thru the roof as well.
I do agree $2K for a good 2-dr hardtop project seems very fair. These cars are notorious rustbuckets, there's probably some surprises lurking beneath the surface.

I see the wacky tail light angle now also.  :eek2:

Yea, if I had researched the process here I would have thought twice. 1) Take the day off work and schedule a VIN inspection by the State Patrol. 2) Bill of sale that is notarized. 3) Title is given after a three year wait.

No way I'm putting much effort into the car until three years have passed.

All I will say is, you guys think AMD prices are high to do one of these cars.....
there's over $3000.00 (yes, THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS) Worth of bumpers/wings on Christine.
the stainless polishing bill for one of these runs around $1500.00 (so I've seen from buddies)

Repair panels don't fit worth a good damn, WHEN you can FIND them.
of course, 58 parts are worth three times what 57 are.

Floor pans/seat braces/tracks/inner rockers/etc. Are a PITA.

Torsion bars are closer to engine so headers and any kind of performance is a royal PITA.

Yeah, $2k sounds a deal. Then you find out like this guy did, it's a whole different animal.
