I'm wanting to upgrade to a 8.5" wheel and a 255/60/15 tire on my 69 charger. Does anyone here have experience doing this and was there a problem with the front tire rubbing the wheel well or any brake components?
Thanks

I have 15x7's with 255/60's on the front of my '68, no rubs. Not sure about a 8.5" wheel, though.  :scratchchin:

There is a brace on the inside of the fender that runs at an angle from the lip. There has been some issues with the tire rubbing on it. 245-60-15's on 15x8.5.

I just checked, the brace where it is spot welded to the lip has popped loose on the driver side. I probably need new torsion bars.
Still looking for 15x7 Appliance slotted mags.....

Back in the day, I ran 15x8 Super Coupe wheels with 255-60r15 radial T/A tires, all around with no issues.
I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Yep that rim too wide ,
Go down from 8" to 7" , mine rubbed with eights on front , you should be able to use that tyre if back space dish equal

It all depends on the back spacing of the wheel you are using. :Twocents:

That's probably it. Unless the inner brace has been removed from the cars that don't rub. It seems the fender is still quite rigid without it.

I have (old school) 8,5x15 vectors with 235/60-15 up front without any problems.
