It's the end for those cars.
Sad thing for the cars, history and business.

Nothing shown looks like it's very usable for "our" cars and unfortunately, the demand for that old 40's & 50's iron is waning each day.

3 ish hour drive...but I don't think I need anything and I'd want to save all thse sweet rides once I get there so I better stay home.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

It sounds pretty picked over, but there is always some last thing that can be saved.

Seems like they could just give the cars away.

But steel scrap value is enough to make that a decent chunk of change being given away.

Sad but true isn't it.  The last local yard to me that still had old stuff worth going through was owned by a brother and sister who couldn't get along.  One bought the other out by bringing in the shredder and starting at the back of the yard and working through until there was enough cash to pay off the sibling.  The yard is still there with some stuff at the front if I ever need a deck lid for the 99 Taurus I'll never buy.

It would be cool just to walk through that place taking pictures.
