Timothy,

I tried calling you twice on Friday afternoon but there was no answer after the operator transferred my call.
Obviously you are very  upset about this situation. But when I was beginning to discuss with you and to get additional information, you hung up on me. You mentioned viewing one of our forum posts regarding our damper "trade-in/upgrade" offer and after I explained the details I was hung up on. Next time if you have a concern please feel free to speak with us, nobody likes to be hung up on.

The damper you have was designed for racing applications only, that is why the pulley's do not line up. It was designed for racing applications only and not meant to mount with standard spacing. Just over 10 years ago the design changed adding counterbores to change the offset which enabled the damper to line up using stock pulleys. Previous to that spacers were added to allow the pulleys to align.

You asked if we have a return policy and we do have a used damper return policy.  What we do not do is automatically send free replacement dampers without asking questions. Unfortunately, when I began to answer your questions, you hung up.

There should be a part number engraved on the outside or face of the damper. what is the part number you have? Simple as it is, but let's make sure it is the old damper and something else is not wrong.

Who did you purchase the damper from?
About, when did you purchase it?

Thank you,

Paul @ Fluidampr

Unless I misunderstood. the part was bought around 2005 and he wants to return it now?  Kinda have to agree with you...hope you guys work it out!

DAY CLONA

Let's see, you bought this about 9 years ago, finally got around to playing with it, and after YOUR failure to research the product in depth for YOUR application, not only do you want your money back after installing it, you want to make an asshat rant about it?...and expect some kind of restitution or customer coddled satisfaction after all of the above,....buddy, this is where you lick your self inflicted "wound", sell the part as used on EBAY, CL, or some swap meet, or just toss it, and purchase a carefully selected component for your application....

I've used Fluidampr components in the past on builds with no issues with either the product or the customer service, but then again I research what I require

I am glad you research your products and have no issues

Point is .... 9 years ....10 minutes ...designed for racing applications was not in the description when purchased.

Gee 440 Source water pumps had a design flaw too that was not IN THE RESEARCH and NO REPLACEMENT FOR THAT EITHER.

I will not use EITHER company again.

I NEVER STATED I WANTED MY MONEY BACK EVER>>>>>>READING IS A REQUIREMENT>>>I WAS SEEKING A RESOLUTION NOT A $ BUTT RAPE

Because your Daytona is old should only be worth a few hundred bucks because its an old car.

Get real

Not getting any sympathy here.....move on!

I am so glad you defend someone who lied about calling
and
Avoided the question to begin with and had to pull teeth with old posts just to get a response about a problem with their product.

Ya....Its ALL MY FAULT

Got it

Ranger,

I have used fluiddamper products and to date have not ran into any problems.  The part you purchased is old or essentially new old stock.  However, it is sitting on your shelf not the seller's.  That is like me rolling up into the Mopar parts department with an NOS part from the past and saying, "I want store credit for this wrong part I ordered."  Not going to happen.

However, you made contact and so has fluiddamper.  Let you anger reside and work it out with them.  We all have made mistakes in ordering the wrong part.  Some catch it sooner rather than later.  Just when it is later, the return/exchange part, may not happen.  Companies have return/exchange policies in place for these situations.  One of those unfortunate times you have to eat the part and sell it yourself.

:RantExplode:  nah, its much easier to air it all out on a public forum, I guess thats a sign of the times  :shruggy:

So they went out of business and then reopened with newer, better products? Sounds like you have an issue with the old company. Sorry, I'm not really following here.

I don't personally own any of their products and have never used them in the past. I am certain that I have parts on my shelf that I've bought over the last couple decades that are useless today. Not sure who to blame other than myself - mostly for not finding out decades ago that they wouldn't work!

At this point I research every dang thing on my car before starting any project. I hate doing things twice!

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.
