Im tired of my pos Bluelight dial-up. Ive been with them for years now, probably like 5 or more. And once in a while they like to increase prices too. Im paying 11.45 from my bank account. I just got email that they'll increase it by $1 in April. Thats ridiculous, just cause I dont use credit card. Im looking for something else, probably DSL.
And HOW much are you paying?

i have been busy upgrading my tech this year..

switched from comcast cable to the dish network which is cool that you can record your fav. shows and replay them when you can watch them...

switched from Vartec telecom to SBC and their hi-speed internet for my home puter connection...

got the t-mobile cel phone account and the Samsung import phone listed in the link above...

also bought a new Dell computer with a nifty little flat screen that don't weight the '70 lbs. the last monitor weighed...

still gotta get my blutooth conection, a scanner and get my printer hooked up...

If you think 11.45 is steep, don't plan on looking for anything else.  That's as cheap as anything I've heard of since Net Zero changed it's pricing (But not it's name...go figure)

High speed seems to go for anywhere from $20-50/mo depending on the provider.  I think I pay $40 now with a cable combo discount.  Lucky for me though, I get to expense it to my company.  :icon_smile_wink:

$11.45?   :o

Do what I do. I wait until my neighbors go out & go over to their house to use their computer, it saved me a bundle so far, probably paid for the Cuda grille already. They don't know it yet, but I'm working on an underground conduit so I can just splice into it & don't have to climb through the window anymore. I always leave their computer on a chatroom for gay adult encounters when I sneak back out. Keeps them both guessing about their teenage son. :D

I had AOL while back, paying 20+USD was out of the question when I could have 11.45 same speed dial-up. But right now I probably can get DSL for 20-25 a month?

Well, first of all, everyone has exactly the same "internet" - there's only one. There are different service providers though. If your access is good and consistent I'd just pay the extra $1 and not worry about it. I think there's only one place around here that is cheaper than that. If you want DSL (a good one) I think you'll be paying more than $20-25. You should check to see what's available in your area before trying to make a decision because service plans and availability vary widely across the US. You may not be able to get DSL at all.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I use Comcast.  My job reimburst me each month so I get it for free.   :nana:

Since that is free and cable is really good I use vonage as my phone provider.  Saves $$$$.  :2thumbs:

Although now that AT&T has taken over SBC they are advertising DSL for $12.99 up here in the NE.  That is a really good deal.  I remember paying $50 for DSL.

Ive got cable internet thru Comcast. I wouldn't have anything else although it is definately NOT cheap...

I have the all in one package through time warner cable. My phone cable with all the HBOs and Cinemaxes and high speed internet run me about $120/month. Im real happy with the phone part of it. I had vonage and switched over to this plan just to eliminate 1 bill a month but its pretty much the same service.

I use Comcast at home but only have a dialup at work through Earthlink. But I am thinking about changing the dialup to the Clearwire wireless broadband. Has anyone tried that? If so, what is your opinion of it?

Get a wireless adapter with a good antenna and see if there are any unsecure wireless networks in your neighborhood you can get free internet from.
