Hey gang..
Curious.... Some of you know, I had/have a starter issue on the 727 in my Daytona. Well, originally I thought it was a misalignment issue of the starter caused by the bottom attach stud being slightly "not square/normal" to the face of the 727, thus causing the breakage of teeth on the ring gear and cracking of the starter cone on the 1st starter. Now that I have the 727 out and looking at it closer, I think it is the quality of the ring gear metal. From these pictures I took last night, the starter actually appears to be aligning properly. The converter in the 727 is my previous torque converter. It appears the tip of the starter cone is going into the case guide hole properly and the starter housing seems to be seated properly against the 727.... Whatcha all think?

I went ahead and got a better quality starter this time, a PowerMaster..

Was the convertor installed recently?  Was it installed properly?

Your selector arm for gear selection is for a 904.  However, it will work on a 727 but if you need the 727 one I have it.

not sure if its my eyes   ,  from where i'm looking , the starter looks like is angled up  & inward towards the block at the front !!  a few degrees ,   :scratchchin:   may well be a optical illusion & i'm seeing things  :slap:
