I had the same issue when I was in Europe, sellers refused to sell to me.  Not sure what their problem was but I'm not wasting my energy trying to convince them they're morons.
Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

Who cares where they end up as long as they are taken care of!!!!  I do not get it either and yes they are morons.

Here's the funny thing most people don't realize....  I usually get far more money and more bidding action when someone from overseas is involved in my auctions.

If its a rare part...heck, it doesn't even have to be "rare" but just hard to find, if someone needs it overseas, they're always willing to pay.

I've been lucky to get top dollar for some parts that I've shipped overseas.  With automated online postage and customs declaration through USPS, FedEx, and UPS, its only requires a couple of more clicks of the mouse and I'm done.  Its no huge hassle for the seller at all.

Q:  For all of you mopar owners out there STOP STOP STOP shipping all of our 68 69 70 chargers overseas if we keep it, up we will be stripped of our mopar clubs
mopar shows and most of all opportunity to purchase. Once they leave the states that's it they are gone and are not coming back, forget about the old mighty buck sell it U.S. and keep the mopar hobby alive, Take Heed Wake up folks  Dec-11-14
A:   thank you.

this guy  is the real dick in all of this    :yesnod:

i'v had this guy or someone just like him contact sellers and  try to stop every purchase that I've made, what's his problem  :flame:

I'm with you on this. What the F#ck is the difference where the owner of the car lives?
The fact that many overseas are able to enjoy ownership is great.
This hobby is all about those that enjoy and appreciate these cars. Cars move to where their new owners live. :2thumbs:
Is the problem with the distance?  Is their a rational reason for concern where a charger fan lives? Would a person that lived on the west coast feel better of a cars home if it were to be on the east coast?
We all know what we are talking about here.
It's a territorial thing that is (perhaps) implanted in us but-- whatever--  The fact is we live in a small world and if the car of our dreams is cared for and survives that is why we all are in this hobby.
If the car of your dreams is in South Africa (for example) go their and buy it. :Twocents:

There is no way that this goof ball actually ownes this car, i mean really.. Just a flat out ding dong. I'm watching the auction, i do have to admit the Q & A is funny to read. :popcrn:

Car is actually listed at a dealer in the Denver area.  Believe this seller is actually associated with the dealership in some manner but who knows.  The nature of his answers are so bizarre that it is hard to believe

If I had a car listed on consignment like this it would not make me feel comfortable.  They seem more interested in playing with it than selling it.

GOTWING

It would be mind boggling if this was the actual owner talking to people like this. There is no way I would trust this clown with my bids, besides that is one hideous looking 68, I didn't think it was possible to make a 68-70 Charger look like crap. Maybe a rump stripe and Cragar SS mags or Magnum 500's would help it out along with a rattle can of flat black paint on those leaf springs. Who would bid that high on a car you can't see under the hood, trunk, frame rails, interior etc. !  :shruggy:

Looks like a junk dealership for people who have terrible credit and need a car. Almost every car listed online is 10 years old and what's worse is the 68 charger is the most expensive car in the inventory. So I can see why a dealership is trying to squeeze every penny out of the car.

Well the parts you guys call not rare mostly are ultra rare for us. So when we find them and the seller is willing enough to ship overseas then I dont bother to start arguing the price if the price is right.
When I buy used parts I always start by telling the seller that I'm located overseas before anything else. Save alot of my time when they back off. You have no idea how many guys not willing to sell overseas. it still has alot to do about us stealing the American heritage I guess...
Greetings from Belgium, the beer country

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

Ghoste

I think its a fear of figuring out shipping options and rates as much as anything else.

I disagree, as a whole people stay within their familiar territory of shipping options.  As ghoste stated, "it is just fear for figuring it out."

I personally would rather see a car exported to someone that appreciates it and will care for it, than to have it sitting in a field or barn, waiting to be restored "someday" (all the while rusting into the ground).  Many forget that exporting goes both ways and a lot of cars have returned....they are not lost forever.  I remember years ago many Britain's wanted the head of an aircraft restorer that sold a Spitfire to an American.  Oh the humanity...to an American no less!   They consider these aircraft to be a national treasure....and perhaps they are, but we are talking cars and why should someone that has a love of musclecars be prohibited from enjoying the hobby just because he lives on the wrong side of the pond?

My hats off to anyone overseas that wants to take on the expense of restoring and operating an American musclecar.  Plus, many of the streets were never made for cars such as the Charger.

Original post was back in September. Winning bid was $26,100. Car is still listed on the sellers web site 3 months later with an "email us for price" tag line. Did it really sell or just get shill bid up in value so they can quote a new sales level they wouldn't sell it previously?

Coincidently, the buyer has feedback that the seller never completed the deal and a second negative feedback about not completing a convertible Vette purchase prior to the Charger.

Anyone contact the dealer for details yet? I'd bet it is still available and they are asking $30.

Out of curiosity and I have to admit I bid $10K hoping I might be able to  buy (realizing seller likely wouldn't let that happen but $10K even with a tough seller seemed like a deal) at a discount per bidding rules, I contacted eBay on what happens if there is a no reserve auction where the seller really has a reserve like price in mind.  They told me that a listing with a reserve actually costs a few bucks more - $15 I think, and perhaps that is why it was listed that way.  They should the listing should have had a minimum as an opening bid which would have saved $15 reserve auction cost.  eBay admitted that even if I had won at $10K that due to the various state laws, it was hard for that winning bid to be legally enforceable which was news to me.

Ghoste

Hmm, sounds like "no reserve" should be only available through a third party or something.

Well that sucks.-----So some people can (for a few bucks) have their own little car show.  And make new friends :smilielol:

More than likely, he will end the auction early if that happens.

Guy needs to call Mrs. Massengill and get some douche!

I seem to recall where a Member on this Forum gave me this advice about one particular topic we were discussing:

"Clearly, there will be no winners here and you guys need to choc it off to an IMPASS"

I was just curious how many pages of bashing this guy it will take before some of you hypocrites follow your own advice?  Maybe a few more posts and you will fix what this guy has advertised......right?  Or do you think you'll still be at an "IMPASS" concerning the subject matter?

Wow!  Some people just cannot let things go!

Call me and others whatever you want.  In the end the more you type here clearly shows who you are.  As Tufact stated previously, "You and Resq troll around on forums stirring up trouble."

Point proven above!!
