1969 RT SE B5 Sunroof ,white int , white top , every option. Los Angeles car I brought up to Canada , I changed it to a Daytona, added a 70 black SE Int... now in northern Alberta. Condition unknown.
XS29L9B225536 ( if memory serves me correct) Here is a pic soon after I rescued it from the streets of Eagle Rock, LA...street raced and banged up, orig front seats gone, sunroof was siliconed shut. I drove over to ASC and got a new seal from them for $12. (this was 1988 approx) Sunroof worked great after a little work. Has it resurfaced?

DonC1,
Your old car is accounted for in the statistics, and is in the 1969 sunroof Chargers pamphlet at the link above. I have not seen it surface yet. I have a contact in central Alberta that is into these sunroof cars - I will check with him. Scott.

UPDATE: My contact in central Alberta has not come across a car that fits your description. He will keep an eye out for it now.

Hey Mark,
Thanks for chiming in. Would love to hear more on your 69 sunroof Charger. Just glancing through the sunroof registry - looks like I have just one T3 383 2bbl car - last known in the Oklahoma City area around 2008. Any chance this is your car?
Thanks! Scott.

hey scott.thanks for reply back. Yes that is my car. It came from old mopar collector. It took a while to get it and one nice 340 barracuda. I just got the title 42 done about 4 or 5 months ago. I plan to put a DC block back 383 reversed warter jackets. Someone put pedals in the car. But i will put it back auto. I will also add a tic toc tack that I've been saving. For the car is in good shape but will take a lot of mopar love. Witch i have boxes of. Un till next time.

LOL just thinking the same  :scratchchin: l my self didn't know that there was such code until i done some research on 69 chargers. The M code is a short lived option for the later part of 69 chargers. A12code borrowed from the 69 super bee. Which is a 440 6 pack. Before. The V code for 70 6 pack cars. There is a 4dr 69 charger didn't be live it till i looked one up. When doing the paper work on my sons car at the tag office. The car was striped of all its numbers all but on the. Quarter panel. This is how the title came back. XS29MB9303832. Could be wrong .car is carring its original #s again.

Mark,
Don't know if that was a typo on your part - but the B and 9 should be switched around for the proper VIN format - XS29M9B303832.

There are several very very very knowledgeable members on this site that I am guessing are going to be very skeptical of an M code 69 Charger existing. To my knowledge, and someone correct me if I am wrong, the A12 option code for the 6 Pack/6 BBL was only available on the 1969 Road Runner and the 1969 Super Bee. Again correct me - when these cars were built, they were originally built as 440 cars with RM23L9B/WS23L9B on the fender tag - but the engine code was changed to an M on the dash VIN when the outside conversion to the 6 Pack/6 BBL was completed. Or is it the other way around - L on the dash VIN and M on the fender tag?

So, does this car have an original VIN tag/fender tag that has XS29M9B303832 on it? There have been several documented cases of typos on VIN/fender tags also, could this be the case? Typos on Titles are even a more common occurrence. Again, someone correct me if I am off on this - is it possible to take a 69 Super Bee/Coronet shell, and outfit it with 69 Charger sheet metal? Could this possibly be an A12 Super Bee shell that was made into a Charger?

Anyway Mark, the Charger community would very much like to see any documentation you might have on your M code charger. Until hard proof is brought forth, you are probably going to catch a little flack about an M code Charger. It would certainly be an eye-opener if such an animal existed.

Thanks,
Scott.

we also have to think of this. A roadrunner is a plymouth they are 6 barrel. Dodge is 6 pack.the cornet is like the chargers brother. So naturally they would use a super bee heart . The dashes are the same. I'd would think. Something to chew on.

6bblgt

XS29M9B303832 - IMO, if that's what the original VIN tag & fender tag show, they are both typos - can you share pics & is there a fender tag?

9B303832 would've pre-dated the introductin of "M"-code b-bodies - the earliest 440+6 cars were "scheduled" 3/29/69 at Lynch Rd. "A"
I don't have info in front of me, but the Charger's SPD would've been late-February, early-March.

the RRs are RM21M9A & RM23M9A - the Bees are WM21M9A & WM23M9A, the fender tags have the 383 engine code "E63"
(the first few 6bbl RRs have RM21H9A & RM23H9A VINs - not sure if the Bees have the same issue?)

Thanks Dan - I knew you would straighten me out. I didn't realize that the 6 Pack/6 BBL cars came out so late in the model year!

Thanks TT! Got some new angles on this car now. Little old lady (now) outside of Nashville purchased this car new and drove it until about 2005. Sat in her yard for about 10 years when the crew from Team Witt Customs was able to persuade her to sell it. They drug it back to the shop and got it running and driving again. Good to see they are getting it out to some shows.

Is there a number on how many 69 sunroof chargers are known to still exist?

Right now, I have 48 sunroof chargers for 1969. Some of these are cars that have been in different registries, and I have not actually been contacted directly by the owners. But that is a solid number given that there are probably several more out there that I have yet to uncover. I have several more cars that I just have info on that may not exist anymore - ie. the Black RT/SE that was caught in the that major shop fire that took out several other nice mopars - including a wing car. Then I have pictures and scant info on several other cars that could be matches to other cars that are in the sunroof registry and just haven't made the connection yet. Have you found the Mopar Sunroof Registry website yet? I just got it up and running in the last couple of months - www.moparsunroofregistry.com
