I think a realistic price would be ~$4500. But prices aren't very realistic anymore so I think you could probably get close to $9k for it from a greenhorn.

I hate to guess at prices but I'm doubting you'll get more than $5k. Probably less. Maybe a lot less. It has the cool color combo going for it but there's no tag or sheet to back that up. I'd adjust upwards for good fenders, tail lights,  and/or a nice grill but you didn't mention those so I assume they are nothing special. No drive train, bad interior, no documentation, and it needs a LOT of metal work really hurts the value. Someone looking to "restore" an R/T likely won't be interested and anyone looking for a rusty project to tackle won't care that it's an R/T.

did anyone come see it and offer something? those pics dont really tell that much but together with what you already said about it 5-6k is reasonable price for it. of course there are ppl out there who might get excited and offer more, hope that you meet one like that.

really? are you joking? I could have bought a real rt, non matching but driving and inspected with later 440 for 10k euro and it was a deal I am not sad I didnt take..

If I'm paying 15-25 for a car with no drivetrain, no tag or sheet, that is rusty and has a ratty interior it better be one damned rare car.  Unless I've got something like Trump money backing me and then 25,000 is the new 25.

Well, I think I'm coming from a position of experience. In the last decade I've looked at over 200 Chargers for sale, purchased five and sold three of them. I've also bought and sold several other Mopars along the way. Most all have been projects or semi-rough drivers. I've had to deal with a LOT of buyers and sellers. I've always thought the cars I looked at (except maybe the ones I bought) were overpriced and all buyers were lowballing me. However, since a sale took place eventually, I feel like I do know what it actually takes for a car to change hands. There is a very complete, solid, blue/white 68 Charger R/T 440 4-speed in my garage right now with the fender tag, original 18 spline trans, 8 track, and a decent interior that I bought for about midway between what I estimated and the price in that Craigslist ad for the car in this thread. I may have gotten the world's best deal if this car brings anywhere close to $10k. If so, we both lucked out!

Sure, you can buy parts but they aren't cheap. Paying someone to weld them all in is generally cost prohibitive. I just spent a LOT of time and money doing less work than this car needs on my 70 Challenger so I'm familiar with this process too. I did it all myself to save money (haha!). Luckily that was the worst car I own. The projects I have sold have been way worse - and sold for pennies pretty much.

Yeah, I get that a lot. Maybe I did get the deal of the century? :P I don't usually tell anyone about it -which is why I left it out in my first post here.

A couple years ago there was a GG1 4-speed R/T project in much better shape than mine with an asking price of $12k and it sat around for what seemed like months. I think that 1968 dark racing green is pretty cool so I can't see how the color would have been that big of a deterrent. I imagine it might have sold for $10k so lose the fender tag and 4-speed and it would have taken a $2k hit off that (if you ask me). Knock it down a few thousand more if it needed a lot of metal work.

I don't mind project too much because I have a garage full of engines, transmissions, and Charger parts. Not everyone does. Price has to be appealing to someone who needs to buy everything.
