Just curious I have looked on Aerowarriors and did a few other searches but does anyone know what the weight of a race prepped Daytona would have been granted it would vary but just wondered what the average car would have weighed.
Sold my Charger unfortunately....never got it finished.

Aero426

Minimum weight was 3900 lbs without the driver.

I've never owned anything but a MoPar. Can you say that?

Dry or wet?

  :shruggy:

Wet, as defined in the rule book as with fluids and fuel.

Is that with or without David Pearson's 50-lb helmet on the front seat?    :D

Highbanked Hauler

3900 I have heard for a stocker but whats a regular Charger weigh ?
69 Charger 500, original owner
68 Charger former parts car in process of rebuilding
92 Cummins Turbo Diesel
04 PT Cruiser

with LA = 3400
with LB =  3700
with RB =  3800
with hemi = 4000

all approx. depending on option load.

HPP

True. I've seen 440 powered Chargers pushing 4200-4300# with a driver in them.

Exactly... total curb weights were quite dependent on which options are on the car.

One of my 1969 Chrysler Corp. brochures lists the following "official" curb weights, which were probably for no-options-added vehicles:

3,253 lbs. - Charger 6
3,411 lbs. - Charger 8 (318)
3,685 lbs. - Charger R/T & 500

There were no weights listed for 383 Chargers.

You can probably add 150 lbs to all the old shipping weights and get nearer to the correct average figure.
