Really, a 73/74 Charger looks better than a 71/72.   :smilielol:

I personally think 73/74 are a better looking car (non- SE's), than 71/72. Somethings sucked on the 73/4's like the bumper filler, larger bumper guards... and all 72 through 74's were a step down in performance from 71.... but luckily all those parts can be swapped out.

I liked my 73 Rallye I used to have over the 72 I used to have. Which one would most around here want if they had to pick from these two....

A plain jane 318 auto '72 turd that needed everything....

Or a 73, 4 speed rallye that needed fresh paint, and new wheels/tires....

Jaak, looks like an SE though.  That is a 1 year only thing with the quarter window.  Always thought that was cool!

In this case, I would take the 73.   :2thumbs:

Your 73/74 Charger will never look as good, or be worth as much as a 71/72. FACT

Not fact. Your opinion.

I bought my 72 for $850, put a couple hundred in it, sold for $1800. I bought my 73 for $2500, put approx. $1400 in it, sold it for $6600.

Now I don't have a Math degree but if my memory is correct isn't $2500 (purchase price I paid for 73) more than $850 (purchase price I paid for my 72).  Ok another math question.... Is $6600 (my selling price for my 73) a larger amount than $1800 (my selling price for my 72).  Ok I typed that out slow, with descriptions so maybe you can understand my point.... to ME and the PURCHASER of my 73..... Guess what.... wait for it.... I hope it doesn't blow ACUDANUT's pea brain... the 73 was worth more than the 72. That's FACT. We all have our likes and dislikes, but your going to tell me a factory 73 340 4 speed rallye (292 built) is worth less than a 72 318 boat anchor, just because its a 72.... that's beyond stupid. I'm not a big fan of 1st gens... I like em, just not a big fan. That would be like me telling an owner of a '66 with a 426 hemi, my 68 Charger (factory 383 2 bbl.) or my 69 RT (non number matching) is worth more than his Hemi car, just because I like 2nd gens better... that would be my opinion.

Now ACUDANUT, I'm not picking an Internet 'fight' with you. You can quote me and respond if you want to, I won't respond to it. I usually don't read or respond to anything you post, but today I felt like calling you out. You are no different than the 'General Lee' bashers, or the 'Grammer Police' around here... your an Internet Troll. And since I responded, I guess you finally 'trolled' me today. You never post pics on here, you never have useful/helpful post... you are a troll that don't like 73/4's (or green cars either....we've only read that about 1-2 million times). Congrats for trolling me today. (But I guess technically if you respond to this....I would have 'trolled' you...and in that case...we will be even).

To the OP, sorry for the hi-jack, wanted to call this troll out today.

Well, said Jason.  I completely agree with you.  This guy made an inappropriate comment about my ride awhile back.  Which was incorrect and unsubstantiated.  I emailed him proff to denounce the validity of that comment and he backed down in response like a toddler would.  Back to the old phrase, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all!"

Wow! Def a lot of thought and effort put into this car. I like that u took a different route! Also, what wheels are those? Look like factory but bigger. I really want to paint my bumpers too, but after getting a few quotes around here i decided that it looks just fine with chrome... Perhaps if i ever decide to repaint the car, i can look into it.

That 73 is awesome! Exactly what i think all gen 3s should have been looking like. Its plain, yet mean! I think its the rear tires... Speaking of which, what size are those? Looks amazing!

As others have said, ill have to strongly disagree with you. I think 2nd gen will always be more than 3rd gen (equal condition cars), but i just dont see that much of a difference between 71/72 and 73/74, its very subtle... As a matter of fact, many buyers now days wouldnt be able to tell the difference. I am as a prime example. I wanted a muscle car, i wanted a charger and couldnt afford 2gen. To me most 3rd gen looked the same, minus some factory options(engine, transmission, some factory adds on/add ons by members). I found my red dragon, and im very happy with how its done (put together using factory available parts). Most these cars were like lego's and you could built them to your style. So at the end of the day it will really depend if u like the look of the car(no two cars will ever be alike), gen 3 is gen 3

They were 295/50/15s. They were mounted on 15 x 10 wheels, I can't remember the backspacing... the previous owner bought the wheels/tires like a month before I bought the car. It really needed about an inch more backspacing, because the tires stuck out past the wheel wells, It would have looked better tucked up inside the wheel wells. The fronts were 235/60/15s mounted on 15 x 8 wheels.
