Anyone use Hooker headers.  Just wandering about plug to tube clearance.  Or a suggestion on other under chassi headers that have good clearance for the plugs.  Was given some Hedmans free, but had to beat the crap out of a few tubes for clearance. I know about TTIs.  They are a bit out of my price range.
Thanks

Its a crap shoot. I have owned 4-5 sets of Hookers. The Supercomps have fit around plug and everything well. The last set of Comps I bought had to be clearance for everything including plugs. It was ugly.

I have a set if the ceramic coated headers an are very happy with them ! Yes I had to make 2 small dings to clear the power steering and torsion bar.

a little elbow grease , they work great

Have an AlterK.  So no probs with steering or torsion bars.  Has anyone not had any problems with having to ding tubes for plug clearance?  Trying to find some headers, that I don't have to alter around the plugs.
Thanks

LUMI

so you have over 4000$ on RMS front suspension and want to save few bucks on headers :slap:
save and buy TTIĀ“s :nana:

Crazy440

Yep, I agree, but it took me 4 1/2 years to save the money for the AlterK.  I'm trying to get this rig done before winter.  $300-400 is all I can afford, without having to save for a year or so.  I'm on SS and limited to what I can spend each month.

So, LUMI, are you saying that TTIs fit with-out any dinging around the plugs?  From  experience?

There are some stories about TTi headers not fitting perfectly either, but there seems to be less examples of that than other header brands...

Same problem I have now on going and these are not supercomps they are regular headers. I have had to bend both sides to clear the T-bars. They JUST clear the right side inner apron/fender by 1/4 in. so I am expecting burned paint there.
