Geno, Michael and i would like to thank you again for the help.

Well I made a phone call to my wife (the boss) , to see how things were going at our family printshop , she told me things were running smoothly, with that said, i mentioned to her that Michael had never seen Nashville, and we would like to stop off there for the day, .....So as i type this, we are still in Nashville and plan to plan to get home tomorrow night.

We will have covered over 4400 miles in our 10 day trip.
Superbird averaged 12/13 miles per gallon, With a fuel bill of about $1400.

I'll be sure to post alot of pics when I get home of our adventures.
Again , thanks Gene.

Mike & Michael,

It was a pleasure to meet you guys, and an honor to help out.  Hope the rest of the trip goes smoothly!

Gene

P.S.  How's the bolt holding up?  Have you had to tighten it any?

Wish I would have known you stopped in Washington. I would have drove the clone down.  I never get enough looking at Genes car and soaking up his wealth of knowledge.  The clone looks pretty good but would have definitely been the ugly step child in that gathering.

You'd have had to be pretty light on your feet to make it, Allen...  Mike called to let me know they were stopping by when he was about 30 miles away from the shop, and he had truly planned to stay only about 30 minutes.  Had it not been for the wing repair, you'd have got here about the time the dust died down from them leaving town.

It would have been great to see you again, and I still haven't had the time to check out your black car as closely as I'd like.  Would have been a great time.  The ugly step child title was already taken though, by my dad's '78 Lincoln Town Car - which we affectionately refer to as the "Linc-abago"

Geno,  the  bolt is holding up fine!
Checked it a couple times...solid as when when we left your shop!
Thanks again,
Look for pictures when we get home.

Day 8 of our cross country trip.
We've logged over 3000 miles so far ( from our starting point of Springfield Oregon) we've hit a lot of the small diners, and route 66 landmarks. The half way point has a cool cafe that is located exactly 1\2 way between California and Chicago. (1139 miles either way.)..... we have passed through Texas and we are currently in Oklahoma headed towards the very tip of Kansas then Missouri.
The last picture shows how I can sleep comfortable at night...rotor button in my motel room every night.

OK OK were Home... I just woke up from a weeks long Nap!
heres more pics of our route 66 trip
1st pic show us drying off engine bay after a storm caught us in New Mexico. ( Drowned the car our in a flood of water on the road)
2nd pics shows, I did have Michael go slightly above the posted speed limit.
3rd pics shows how I slept better at night....( still got up to check on car) but not EVERY 30 mins..lol

POSTED FROM MY FACEBOOK PAGE

Day 9 of our cross country trip.....lots of hwy driving yesterday. We left Oklahoma, made it through Kansas, Missouri, and into Mt Vernon Illinois. (Driving 610 miles).
We stopped off to see a friend of ours (Gene) . Gene has one of the nicest (if not the Nicest Daytona in the country.) It won best of show at the 2012 mopar nationals.
While we were there, we had to fix a broken bolt in one end of the rear wing stabilizer. ( it had sheared off ).
Gene ( hemigeno )...as known on the Dodge charger.com discussion board , really helped us out by allowing us to use his shop tools to extract the broken bolt , drill, tap and re thread a smaller " makeshift" fix to get us home.. a friend of Gene 's (Richard Bolzenius) showed up with his 6pk 4 speed superbird also.
After leaving his shop we saw the St Louis arch, at that point, It was time to set our GPS Toward home. (785 miles) . We wish we could have driven the rest of Route 66, but we have to get Michael moved into his apartment this weekend to start his college classes .
It's been a Blast driving route 66.
Look for one more update tomorrow that will show some cool "random " pics from our trip.
We will have covered over 4400 miles in our 10 day trip.
Superbird averaged 12/13 miles per gallon, With a fuel bill of about $1400.
We are missing our family and sleeping in our own beds.
I am also missing my beautiful wife Jen , .... (shes in last pictures posted here.).
She kept things going on the home front while we enjoyed the ultimate Father/Son trip.
