What is it about the Akron car you don't like? :popcrn:

Its been up for a couple of months and it doesn't have a original engine, it seems a bit pricey  :shruggy: what do you think
From what you've mentioned, you're wanting a Charger that is:
- dependable
-street/ strip car
-$10k budget approx.
-needed within a couple months.

This car runs/ is licensed, a 383  (very respectable engine that can run impressive numbers), $10.5k and one that you can arrange to see fairly quickly.  Add a power bulge hood and R/T taillights, and you have a great looking R/T clone.  The fact that it isn't the original engine seems like a benefit to me being you'd like to race it.  Every time you race it, you risk blowing the engine.  My uncle just got done rebuilding his engine in his car Fri, raced it on Sat., and on cool down, dropped a valve. 2nd time of rebuilding this engine in a month. Bad things happen quickly when racing.  Do you really want to risk it with an original block?

Matching numbers is only important is if you have the car as an investment.  Being that this car has been listed for a while, he might be willing to negotiate a better price.  If it was me, I'd contact the owner for some more info, and go check it out yourself.

I stress the idea of looking at cars in person.  Even if it's not the car you'd like it to be, there are at times where the owner knows of another car just like it that's not listed, that just might fit the bill.

Not to mention its the 68 with the 70 grille and a very ugly scoop.

If you're referring to the Miami CL 68 Charger, in which I think you are because of the hood scoop, sure looks like a 68 Charger grille to me  :shruggy:

You already know.  How does this car compare to other cars valued more and less than it, with what's being offered?

Grim Jhaixus

Misperceptions and misinformation. Yeah that's a '68 grille, no broad stripe, dunno if I hallucinated or what.

Ben, I hate to be giving you "the old man" speech, but I really think you need to take some time and really figure out what you want. I wanted a black 74 non-SE with orange stripes running down the sides since I was 9.

You're asking us about Corvettes now. A Roadrunner before that. You've bounced around from 70 to 68-72 to third gens in general and other B Bodies and now non-mopars. We are going to tell you Mopars are the greatest cars ever made, and back it with historical evidence. On a Vette forum you'll find out that Corvettes were the greatest cars ever made and you'll be shown historical evidence to prove it. Same goes for almost any car. fact is, after you figure out what you want you will find reasons to justify your choice. If you try to justify your model by efficiency or practicality or cost over time you'll end up in at best a VW Beetle and worst a KIA. I would become terribly depressed to see you end up in a KIA. Be specific. It'll work out fine with will and patience (and money, yeah). Look at me; despite the damage and headache I'm a $3 can of orange spray paint and a $1 roll of masking tape from having a life scale replica of the toy I had 18 years ago.

So... what do you want? What's the dream car? Is it Dominic Toretto's "The Curse"? Dirty Mary Crazy Larry? Is it GL?

This might be a cool car to look into.

It's a '72 Rallye under 10K.  Odd thing is, it's a manual on the column.
It is a lynch road car with the V21 package

Gets some photos' and see if it might work.

Only means they purchased it with the performance hood treatment.  Blacked out.
